Library, Thursday [3/1]

Even though it was Spring Break, Yomiko was in the library today. And she figured she might as well open it up to one and all as a matter of courtesy.

((No OCD, as it is Spring Break. Also, I'm about to have to go to class, but I'll be back in a few hours.))

"Want me to take care of the online stuff or the things that come in the form of ex-trees?" Willow asked.

"You might be able to find different information online than we can here," she says. "Maybe try that first, and if it doesn't give us anything..."

"You got it," Willow said as she fired up Google and Demons, Demons, Demons. "I assume carnivorous or omnivorous at the very least? Or do we think the plant was acting strictly in a defensive capacity?"

"It was possibly defensive," she says, thinking about it. "The only time I can think that I would have been bitten was when I put my hand on the tree. I might have been too close and it became territorial."

She can't believe she's saying this about a fungus.

Willow nodded as she typed away. "It could've thought you were trying to mess with its women."

Hermione looks up from the book and just kind of looks at her.

"Spring is coming," Willow replied, as though that was an explanation.

Hermione gets it, and nods, saying, "I'm going to research and forget you said that."

Willow went back to searching. "Hmm. Did you hear any sounds like honking horns when you got bitten?"

She thinks about it, and shakes her head. "Not that I recall."

"Did you happen to smell bananas?"

"No, there were no fruit smells that I remember whatsoever."

"Nuts. That looked like a fun counter-spell." Willow closed the window she was reading and continued her search.

Hermione's eyes go wide again, but a second later she's off on her own thing. "Maybe there is a good counterspell, or at least something that was covered in DADA," she says. "Something to maybe get us on the right path..."

"I'm very good with spell-hacking," Willow said, looking excited. "So if we found something close I could lichen it up a bit."

Hermione nods enthusiastically. "There are even people here from higher grades than me. I'm not sure Cedric would have them, but... Oh! Fred! I doubt he would have actually brought any texts with him that hadn't been hollowed out and filled with something that gave you feathers accidentally, but he might!"

"Even if there's hollows we could try to reconstruct from what was left," Willow said.

"I should see if they're open," she says. "If he does, I'll be back with books."

"Good luck!" Willow said. "I'll keep on with the surfing."

"Thank you," Hermione tells her, and rushes out of the library with a wave.
