Detention, Saturday, February 24

As the students entered the Danger Shop, they noticed that they were on a rooftop with The Tick standing at the edge of the roof overlooking the cityscape. He held a clipboard in one hand.

When everyone had shown up, he turned around and smiled. "Good morning, detentioned students! I am The Tick and I shall be your detention instructor today! Today I'll be showing you the ins and outs of Wrong. You see this city? It's based on The City, my Home Away From Fandom! The City is known for many things. Good diners. Science that is both mad and beneficial. And the never-ending struggle between good and evil, all dressed up in tights! Since you're here, it's assumed that you may be branching out to the evil side of that struggle, so I'm going to show you first-hand that crime doesn't pay!"

"You'll be undergoing a series of simulations as the villain. When you try to do your dastardly deeds, a random hero of The City will come out to thwart you! Don't take these thwartings personally, though. It's our job. The superhero is the Telemarketer of Justice and villains are sitting at home, not expecting to be bothered, but bothered they are because their home is a robot that's destroying a bank and then a call comes asking if you'd like to order some law! And the villain says no, but after some stuggle he's convinced to do so! The only difference here is that instead of better rates on their phone bill or weekdays AND Sundays for newspaper delivery, they just purchased a stay in prison."

"There are some costumes in a box there if you really want to get into the whole theme, but they're optional and completely school appropriate."

[OOC: Sorry for getting it up a little later than intended. Writer's block followed by icon making = slight delay. I'll be around all day. Playing 17 NPCs. *sighs at self*

For the record, I know there are people who will be signing in late in the day. I am totally cool with that. I never want to stop playing this detention until my brain explodes, so I'm good to play it out however long it takes. :D]

And grab a costume if you'd like! There are changing rooms on this roof, right next to the HVAC units.

The Tick led his villains down to the street by leaping off the roof. "Don't worry, the shop is set to not kill you if you jump! There's a very large trampoline down here!"

After that, he led them across the street from a building labeled as "THE BANK."

"That is a bank. You get to try to rob it. Remember, you're a supervillain, so go in, be flashy about it! If you want, team up and decide who's in charge and who's a henchman! See if you can get out of being thwarted, which you won't, because Justice is like oil when mixed with water: it always comes out on top!"

[OOC: Most of the heroes in The City are completely incompetent. Don't fear a thwarting too much.]

After the bank robbery simulation, The Tick led the students to The City Observatory. Instead of a giant telescope in the observatory, though, there was a giant laser cannon. And up in the sky was the moon. It had the letters "HA" carved into it and a large bite taken out of it.

"In this simulation, you're a big time supervillain with henchman. You have to instruct your henchman, the helmetted hired goons called the Idea Men, on how to thwart the thwarting you're sure to receive when a hero presents his thwart card! While doing this, you're trying to look through your desk for a crystal that will power the giant laser cannon that you want to use to blow up the moon thus causing tidal woe and gravitational confusion! Don't ask me why you want to do this, you're the villains! Anyway, all of the drawers in your desk are locked and you can't find the key. Because Evil doesn't sweat the details the way it should, hence blowing up the moon."

[OOC: Ping in, a hero will meet you, then mod your mob as you try to find the crystal. Most of you will probably succeed in blowing up the moon. Do it as quickly as you'd like, unless a hero manages to defeat you.]

"Here you are at a diner for supervillains. You can get pretty much any diner food you want, but it all tastes like Evil: bitter and greasy."

Actually, the food was decent. But greasy.

[OOC: Visitors are allowed, why not?]

"The one thing that all villains need to learn is that all of your fellow villains are untrustworthy. Take all of you, for example! I have these state of the art laser weapons and harnesses. They're called 'LASER TAG' devices. If I give you each a harness and a gun, I can only imagine that you're going to shoot each other with it!"

A mist rolled into the shop. The lights turned to blacklights. And suddenly there were obstructions and things to hide behind. "Well, go ahead, betray each other like good little villains."

[OOC: Random laser tag interlude. Shoot each other, it's fun! For the record, this is plain old regular laser tag. The lasers are harmless. Three hits and you're out.]

The scene shifted a few miles outside of The City to a building. The sign read "THE COMET CLUB." Off to the side of the building was a small shack with a sign reading "Sidekick's Lounge." There was also a parking lot filled with various supervehicles.

"Here we are at The Comet Club, the nightclub for superheroes! There are a bunch of heroes in there that you would surely be defeated by if you managed to get in, but we're not going to worry about that. Your goal is just to try to get inside. But be warned, the door is guarded by Doorman, that guy hovering right by the door. He flys, is super strong, and can sense when people who aren't heroes enter the club. Oh, and eye lasers! Those are keen! Anyway, you have to get past him somehow. Defeat him in battle, distract him and run inside, whatever you think will work!"

[OOC: You'll probably fail this task unless you get really clever. Try anyway! The environment is completely moddable, from the Sidekick's Lounge to the cars in the lot, to the grass on the ground.]

The Danger Shop now represented the original rooftop again. The Tick was standing in the middle of the roof, looking slightly disappointed. "Well, you've made it this far with some success, unfortunately. There's just one final way to prove to you that villainy is not the right choice for you, to help you straighten out, do right and not wrong, do good and not evil..."

"If you're a villain, then I will have to thwart you. Now, I'm not going to attack you here in detention, obviously, especially since you're not truly evil. But I do want to show you how bad an idea it would be to have me as a nemesis, so I'd like you to take a shot at me. There are various weapons in this pile next to me if you don't want to risk hurting your hand with a punch. Just attack me and you can be on your way. And don't worry about me! I'm nigh invulnerable!"

[OOC: Completely moddable weapons with safety measures on for the students so you can use a grenade with no fear!]

17 NPC heroes are available in this detention. That's down from the 20 villains I used in a previous detention. I'm slacking.

Ray signed in and grabbed a costume. At least it wasn't spandex.

You scare me. In a totally good way though. Really!

Turtle signed in. She needed a cape.

Sam signed in and grabbed an eye mask, a black hat, fingerless black gloves, black pants, and a long-sleeved black t-shirt.

Because of course that would be inconspicuous. But comfortable.

*throws a doll at you*

Turtle spent a little more time on the trampolines. She really liked how her cape and her braid jumped and flopped together. She eventually hopped off and looked up at THE BANK. Hm. Rob it. Be flashy about it...

If anything, she knew she could at least be cliche about it. Turtle charged in with little pomp or circumstance and demanded, "Everyone down! This is an unlawful attempt to redistribute the flow of the circulation of currency through the economy! Cooperate, and your stock options may still be safe!"

She suddenly realized she had no weapons. Except her kicking, braid rage, and the power of mighty capitalism. And, hey, that did work on the samurai fishmen...

...

...when the heck did all this become normal to her?

Ray didn't think being flashy would help him rob the bank. He stomped into the bank, looked around, and said, "This is a robbery! On the ground and no one gets hurt!"

It was what they'd seen on television, after all.

Layla signed in and grabbed an eye mask. That was proper villain wear, wasn't it?

Sam spent a while considering how to best rob the bank. Normally, she'd be a fan of going in under the cover of darkness and just circumventing the alarm system, but that didn't seem to fit in with the scenario.

Instead, she folded her mask and put it in her pocket, then went to go stand in line for the teller.

Jaye signs in and... you know what, she's a stick figure. If she's gonna be that lame, she's going to work it as is.

Jaye sighs, and walks into the bank. "This is a stickup, gimme all your money," she sighs.

And belatedly thinks to point her finger like a gun.

A man dressed like a Cuban dictator walked into the bank. He was also unarmed. "Oh, that's a good job. Everyone's cowering in fear at that one. Oh, by the way, I'm Sarcastro. These are my boots. Notice how I'm shaking in them."

A bulky man in goggles, a tight shirt, and red underwear burst into the bank with a series of backflips. "IT'S GREAT TO BE ALIVE!" he yelled.

He continued backflipping until he hit the teller counter. He got up after that and looked like his face might explode from hyperness. "WOOOOOO!"

"As you should be!" ~~Turtle~~ Braided Kicking Tortoise declared. "Have you seen these interest rates? That is the true crime here. Now move aside and I'll just take this capital and everyone will have a nice, comfortable day thanks to all the socialist institutions they can go crying to do reimburse them for this trauma."

A young man wearing nothing but a loincloth walked over on all fours and took his place in line behind Sam. This was Feral Boy.

He scratched his head with his foot.

Ray blinked. "You! Down on the ground!"

"Yeah, I've seen them. And I don't really care because I'm not a nerd," Sarcastro snarked. "And what's wrong with socialism?"
