Library [02/13]

Sam came to open the library armed with tea instead of his usual coffee. For once, he was more concerned about staying warm than staying awake.

"Could try to help you with the headaches," Peter offered. "Not that I'm a nurse yet but I'm studying."

"Any kind of help with the headaches would be nice, even if you aren't fully trained yet," Sam replied, looking thankful.

"What are friends for?" Peter replied. "Can't prescribe you anything but I know some good herbal stuff, OTC, few physical techniques if you don't mind that."

Sam smirked. "I don't mind that, but anything that won't make me look like too much of a dork if I have to do it in front of Dawn would be preferred."

"My lips are sealed," Peter said. "Least I can do for karma keeping it quiet about my naked staircase time. Luckily Cassie was polite about it."

"Naked staircase time. The radio people would have had a field day with that," Sam remarked. "I'm not surprised Cassie was nice about it. She seems pretty nice in general."

"She helped me get big again," Peter said. He blinked. "Uh... in the whole body... yeah there's just no way to make that sound gentlemanly after the fact."

Sam did his best to keep his snickering to a bare minimum. "I'm sure you were as gentlemanly as you could be."

"Hey, I was this big," Peter said, holding his hand up over the desk to indicate his size. "I'm lucky Cassie was a lady about it. There could've been pictures."

"Are you sure she didn't take any mental pictures? Girls are sneaky."

Peter groaned and buried his face in his hands. "Don't suppose you know anybody with invisibility powers that I could stand next to? ~~Yanno, besides The Doctor~~"

Sam shook his head. "I'm afraid I can't help you out there. But hey, if she hasn't said anything to you about it, you probably don't have a reason to be concerned."

"I'll keep my fingers crossed," Peter said, lifting his head up again. "I'm watching movies with her and Teddy tomorrow."

"Is this friendly movie watching, or are you hoping Teddy will find a reason to bail out?"

"What?" Peter looked at Sam like he grew another head. "Nah. Just friends. Teddy found out I didn't have any plans for tomorrow so he took pity on me."

"Hey, Cassie saw you naked. It seemed like a valid question," Sam replied. "That sounds like a good way to spend the night though."

"Popcorn, movies, friends, could do worse," Peter agreed. "How 'bout you? Got something special going on with Dawn?"

Sam grinned. "Yeah. If everything goes according to plan, we'll be going out for a nice, romantic dinner. We don't do much of the whole going out thing, so I'm hoping it'll end up being special."

"Yeah? Cafe Fina?" Peter asked. "I heard that's the fancy place in town."

"Yeah. The guy who runs it is...a little further towards the odd end of the spectrum than most people around here. But I think it'll still be a good night."

"I should be worried that there's actually somebody who's considered odd even for here, right?" Peter said.

"You don't have to be worried," Sam insisted. "But if you see a guy running around town with candlesticks for hands, don't assume you're starting to hallucinate."

"Unless I'm standing next to somebody with hallucination powers," Peter joked, just a tiny bit of a dork about having an ability now.

Luckily, Sam was more than willing to let Peter dork out over this. "That would be kind of a crappy power, but I guess you could use that if you wanted to."

"You never know," Peter said. "Could be... I dunno. Vision Quest Man. I'd get all the benefits but not have to eat the mushrooms."
