Rory came in bright and early and smacked a poster on the door before positioning herself behind the desk as usual with her coffee.

She grabbed a stack of books, and spent the day deep in research - both her own personal problem, and for the problems with the shadows.

[I'm AFK most of the day, so please mod Rory if you need help with something. Wait for OCD is up and a little different today. Please wait for further OCD on the specific research thread, as it will be coming later while I am unconscious and people in Europe are not. That OCD is up, too! Whooooo!]

Katara approached Cameron looking determined. "Hi. Are you okay?"

"Had better days," he said honestly. "But I think that's kind of obvious. Thanks for coming."

She started to pour Cameron a cup of hot chocolate. "I'm not sure how much help I can be with the research, but I can make people eat chocolate." She nodded. "It's good against evil spirits."

Cameron smiled. "I think you're settling right in here if you're already seeing chocolate as medicine."

Katara handed Cameron the cup, making sure he was able to hold onto it. "I think chocolate's good for everything, but Dr. Orpheus even said that it had healing properties."

Cameron didn't move to take the cup and he shook his head regretfully. "That smells great, but I don't think I can," he said softly. It didn't help that he completely forgot about eating yesterday and now he was hungry and slightly worried that he might starve before this thing got fixed.

"You can't touch anything?" Katara asked looking both worried and a bit upset. "I wish I could figure out how to heal this. But it didn't work with Tori yesterday."

"The book people will figure it out," Cameron said with a little more confidence than he was feeling.

She nodded. "And then we'll hit things to make them stop hurting our friends."

Cameron grinned. "Hitting sounds like a really good idea."

"We'll have to make sure that happens," she said with a determined nod.

"Yeah, you're really fitting right in here," Cameron decided.

Katara rolled her eyes. "You say that like there wasn't a need for things to be hit at home."

"Oh," he frowned. "Bad things?"

"War and fighting and people trying to conquer the world," she said. "I'll tell you about it when I can actually give you hot chocolate if you like."

He nodded. "That sounds like a good idea," he agreed. "No one should have conversations like that on an empty stomach. I miss good. I wonder what chocolate tastes like again." Yep, dramatising.

Katara looked a bit mischievous. "Could wave pieces of hot chocolate through you," she teased. "Maybe you could capture the essence of the taste of something."

Cameron snorted. "I really don't want to think about it that I've been capturing the essence of every door and wall I've walked through today."

"Unless you've desperately wanted to experience life as a termite...probably not," Katara said. She wasn't Sokka for comic relief, but she tried. Sorta.

"Can't say that I have," he chuckled. "You know as a kid you think this sort of thing would be kind of cool. Maybe I should take advantage of it while you all are working your ass off and sneak into places I shouldn't sneak in to."

Katara laughed. "Maybe you should. Unless you turned solid again and got stuck somewhere. That would be bad."

"Ouch, that sounds painful," he agreed. "But I kind of want to be here and see what we can figure out."

She looked more serious and reached out to pat Cam's arm - even though she knew she couldn't actually touch him. "We'll figure out lots."

Cameron nodded and gave her a small smile. "I know. We've got a school full of geniuses here."
