Library [02/01]

A somewhat sleepy Bridge shuffles in to the library with coffee. Mmm, coffee.

He's now shelving books, occassionally finding a still-misshelved book or two from last week when the action figures had tried to "help".

Chris stops by after his class to see if he can find any reference material on magic that might help with the whole vanquishing thing.

"Hey, Bridge," he says with a wave.

Something in the shadows noticed Chris. Noticed, and liked what it saw.

Chris got a chill and looked around to see if there was an air vent nearby or something.

No air vent, but there was a shadowy hand that was now going directly for Chris's throat.

"What the..." Chris felt something at his throat and tried to pull away.

The shadow took from him what it wanted, then vanished as quickly as it had come.

Chris looked around, feeling extremely cold still, and very confused about what had just happened.

"Hey, Chris!" Bridge calls back cheerfully from over in the stacks. "What's up, dude?"

When he doesn't get a response, he leaves the books he was reshelving on the cart and peers around the corner. "Dude?" he says, concerned.

"I don't know," Chris says, shaking his head to try to clear the foggy feeling. "I just got really cold and it felt like something was going for my throat."

"Are you okay now?" Bridge asks worriedly.

"I think so," Chris nods. "I'm just really cold."

"Want me to turn the heat up or something?" Bridge offers.

Chris shakes his head. "Nah, I'll be all right. I wanted to know if there were any books on magic that might help me with this whole vanquishing thing."

"Seems to be a popular topic," Bridge says, still casting worried glances at Chris as he leads him over to the appropriate section.

Marty marched down to the library after his conversation with M.

"Do we have any books about how to confront someone who's cheating on you?" he asked Bridge.

Wow, deja vu. *Something* wacky was going on here, that's for sure.

"What is going *on*?"

"Angela's having an affair behind my back," Marty said clenching his fists. "I can't believe she'd do that to me."

"Seriously, neither can I," Bridge says. "Did you actually *see* her with someone else?"

"Are you kidding? The sigsn are all there. The way she talked about her. Her 'concern' for her well being. It's all there! But she can't fool me! No-sir-ree-bob. You'd have to get up pretty early in the morning to foll old Marty."

"Her who?" Bridge asks, half-afraid Marty was going to say, like, Principal Washburn or something.

"Callisto. It must have been that curtain outfit she wore when were there over Christmas break," Marty grumbled. "Did you know anything about this?"

"Dude," Bridge says. "Cal's kinda in the hospital right now. I really don't think she's seeing *anyone*, unless they're a doctor kind of person."

Marty glared at Bridge. "Why are you covering for her?! I should have known! It's a conspiracy! How did she get to you Bridge? Was it threats? Money? Damn it man! How can you turn against me?!"

"Eep!" Bridge says. "I'm not... Marty, how do you feel about the colour blue?"
