Sam was muttering a few choice phrases related to his alarm clock as he rushed to open the library.

"Well, I have no intention of keeping you from reaching a ripe old age," he promised. "I can't make any guarantees for myself though."

"I meant what we do to ourselves, smart guy," Dawn opened a book at random and began reading. "And I'll help you make it if you help me?" Even if they broke up at some point, she hoped they'd still stay friends.

"That's why I can't make any guarantees about myself," Sam admitted. "Because I don't know what I might end up having to do. But I think helping each other sounds like a good idea." And one that he could certainly keep, even if things didn't work out perfectly between them.

"Me either, honestly," Dawn shrugged, "especially since I seem to be a danger and chaos magnet, but it's a good thought."

"We've got to figure out how to get these danger magnets off of us. I think that's the key to survival."

"Hmmmm, yes, that is handy," Dawn said, frowning at the page. "Okay, I don't think we ever needed to know a demon could do that. Ew."
