Week 4: Home Economics: Period 1: Tuesday

Emma is wearing a green apron, a white shirt and jeans today. It's probably the most mundane attire she's worn so far. Students are free to boggle at the sight.

The gas stoves are back on the desks, along with a variety of ingredients and a collection of pots and pans.

"Good morning, students. Find your aprons, today we are cooking chicken!" Emma smiles. "You may boil your chicken or fry in in a pan. You cannot bake it as we have no stoves at the moment. You will also make at least two side dishes based on the ingredients on your table."

A thick folder called Chicken Cooking Tips is found on each table, along with a recipe book.

She pointed at a box on her desk. "Please place your scarves with your name attached on a note in this box, thank you."

River threw an avocado at Jamie while adding the chicken into the frying pan.

"Zucchini and turnips are much more aerodynamic," Dawn said, roasting some peanuts in a frying pan, planning to sprinkle them with sugar and lemon juice as a kind of dessert type thing.

River nodded thoughtfully as she balanced a zucchini in her hand. Then she broke it in two and beat it to a pulp against the cuttingboard and put the result into the frying pan with the chicken.

Without saying a word, Dawn handed over the coconut milk and the can opener.

After opening the can, River sniffed the coconut milk and nodded approvingly. "Good choice."
