When Yomiko got to the library, it was dark and locked. That was strange, she thought.

"Yeah, I know. He's my best friend, and it's not like him at all." Anders blew out a breath. "I'm Anders, by the way. I came to check up on him 'cause I know he was kind of out of it yesterday, so if he's not here I really don't like how this is adding up."

"Oh, dear," Yomiko said, biting at her lip. "I hope everything's all right..."

"I'll drop by his room again later," Anders said. "I've got the combination to the lock, I can get in if I need to. Could you give me a call if he turns up, maybe? Or, you know . . . if he doesn't?"

"Oh, right." Anders fished a J,GoB receipt out of his pocket and scrawled 555-CBUC on it, then handed it to her. "I really hope he's okay."

"I'm sure he's fine and we're all worrying needlessly," Yomiko said optimistically. "Um. Would you like a bookmark?" she asked, proferring one. It never hurt to ask.
