Ethics [Thursday, December 21th, 6th period]

As everyone arrived, they could see Krycek had the classroom set up like an arts and crafts lab, with a table for each pair to work on and supplies of all sorts awaiting their use. There were egg cartons, cotton, peanut butter, foam, dowels, boxes of all sizes, glue, tape, and many many other materials.

"Welcome to the last part of your Ethics final," Krycek said, passing handouts to every couple and single parent. "You'll be dropping your eggs off a building, but don't worry, you have the chance to build a buffer, so they hopefully don't go 'splat' when they land." Krycek seemed very business-like as he detailed the assignment.

"So have at. Once you guys are done building, we'll head up to the roof to test them out. There will be a discussion question following the experiment and then you guys are free. Good luck and happy finals."

[OOC: Yeah, dubious relation to Ethics, yadda yadda. Mod whatever materials you might need, within reason.]

Bel eyed her. "If you're sure," he said. "But I think it's pretty wrong to assign us to toss our 'kid" off a roof."

"I'm sure," she promised. "And it's Vader's class. I'm just glad it's only an egg and not a puppy or something."

"He probably had a puppy in mind originally," Bel grumbled. "So how we gonna cushion Benjamin?"

"Foam," Isabel said firmly. "That'll hold him steady. Then if we pack the foam into a box with something a bit looser, that should take the force of the impact."

"I thought you were gonna make it so there wouldn't be an impact," Bel said.

"Well I will have to set it down at some point!" she said. "Besides, better safe then sorry. What if a meteor suddenly shot through the sky and landed on my head? It could knock me out."

"Do you want to risk your son's life on that possibility?" Bel demanded.

It's possibly he might be taking this parenting thing a little too seriously.

"I'm not willing to risk it! That's why there's foam!" Isabel insisted.

"But what if a meteor hits you and the foam isn't enough?" Bel flailed.

"Bel? Dear? If a meteor hits me, I could quite possibly be dead," she pointed out. "In which case, I'm a bit concerned that you're more worried about the egg then you are about me!"

Bel blinked.

"I'd push you out of the way!" he said. "But then you wouldn't be able to concentrate on Benjamin."

"I can't concentrate if I'm dead!!" Isabel flailed.

"I'd save you!" Bel said. "But then I'd have to choose between my son and his mother and what kind of choice is that to have to make?!"

"I think I'm good enough with the fu that I can keep concentrating on our kid while you knock me out of the way," she said, rolling her eyes. "But while I'm good? The meteor might win."

"No meteor is hitting my son," Bel said firmly. "Or the mother thereof."

"Good. Because we're ready." Isabel held up a makeshift container and then placed Benjamin in it. "Off to the roof (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1169388.html?thread=65998316#t65998316)?" she asked.
