"Myth, and my final project for Prophecy," Joxer said. "Two of the hardest classes ever. I swear, I'm not gonna make it through them."

Chad frowned a little, making a mental note to not take those classes if they were offered again next semester. He disapproved of extrenious effort more often than not.

"What makes 'em so hard?"

"They require too much reading and thinking," Joxer said. "It's like they're trying to make us sit around and become weak or something."

Chad grunted; it was a laugh, but it could have easily be interpreted as agreement. "Evil plot?" he guessed. "Doesn't seem in the school's best interest to let us become weak, considering trolls and shit."

"Exactly. Unless they're all working for the trolls," Joxer said. "Then they might be part of a secret evil plan."

Nodding, Chad grunted around a shovel of food, thinking as he chewed. "Maybe they hope we can learn to defeat evil with our brains."

"I'd rather defeat evil with my sword," Joxer said. "My brain isn't exactly a deadly weapon."

Chad paused for a moment. "Didn't you say you defeated some of the trolls with your head, though?" He pointed to his own noggin for emphasis.

"That wasn't my brain, though," Joxer said. "That was brute force. With my head."

Chad didn't know how he felt about being technically outsmarted by Joxer. "Y'got me there," he admitted.

Joxer ate a bit of his food. "So, how come a big guy like you doesn't have a girlfriend huh?"

There were a lot of really good answers to that question; Chad wasn't sure which one would be best. He shrugged. "Girls here seem different than any of the girls I used to date Fandom's weird." He took a bite of his salad. "Boys are easier here."

Joxer stopped mid-chew. "That seems to happen a lot around here."

Chad arched an eyebrow. "What does?"

"Guys and... other guys," Joxer said. He didn't mean to sound disapproving... but he did.

Chad considered this, choosing to pass right over the disapproving tone, and grunted. "Does it really happen that often?" he asked, sounding suddenly a little bit worried. His own experience was pointing directly to 'yeah, happens all the freakin' time,' but he'd hate to think that his certain...prowess around a small male population of Fandom had more to do with him, rather than some weird Fandom boykissy vibe.

No, he assured himself. It's just that the boykissy vibe helped him, and overrided, perhaps, any possible connections with girls. Nadia did say he was the second hottest guy in school....Some of it had to be him, right?

"More often and openly than back home," Joxer said.

Another grunt. Chad knew 'back home' was a lot different for Joxer, but, after a thought, yeah, this sort of thing was more open in Fandom that his old schools. Most of his friends in Japan didn't even know until he had mentioned Ranma to Orihime. What if it was just a Fandom thing?

Chad had the sudden urge to confirm some sort of masculine theory regarding his sexuality by finding a girl as soon as possible and making out with them hardcore. His eyes shifted toward Nadia and Pippi, which would totally rock, but them having boyfriends complicated things just a bit. Especially since both of them could easily beat him up. Well, he knew Pip could. Walter would because Chad wouldn't fight back because he would have totally deserved it.

He then looked toward the other girl in the cafeteria. He didn't know Hermione very well, but he probably knew enough to know that wouldn't go over very well either.

Chad sighed. Dumping a bucket of cold water on Ranma wouldn't quite work, either.

He stared down at his tray, poking at his food in thoughtful delemma.

"Uhhh, not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with, uhhh, liking other boys," Joxer said. "My brother's like that."

Chad rubbed the back of his neck. "Does he, uhh, have trouble? Finding guys?"

Joxer thought for a second. "He has an entire chorus line?"

...Okay, that was reassuring, then, because, to the best of Chad's knowledge, Joxer's brother wouldn't be influenced by the Fandom vibe. Especially since he was pretty sure there was a significant lack of chorus lines in Fandom.

"Good," Chad grunted, with a confirming nod that perhaps it wasn't just Fandom. Second hottest, remember? From the sweet lips of a very hot chick. "Uhh....good for him."

Joxer made a face which reflected his thoughts of 'but Jace is the most embarassing brother ever'.

"You're a strange sidekick, Chad."

Chad scratched the back of his head a bit. "Sidekicks are supposed to be strange, ain't they? To reflect...better...on the main guy, or somethin'."

"Oh," Joxer said. "Does that mean I like boys too, if you reflect me?"

...logic didn't work on Joxer. Ever.
