Nadia had a plate full of hot macaroni and cheese and was looking out the window at the snow flurries in an unhappy fashion.

Stupid snow.

Pippi flounces up with a tray piled high with everything.

"Hi Nadia!"

Nadia looked up from her sulk thinking and smiled. "Hey, Pippi,"

Pippi sat down and happily popped open her soda.

"What's up?"

Nadia poked at her food. "Nothin'. It's snowing."

"I know, isn't it beautiful?"

Nadia scowled. "It's cold and wet and cold and I don't like it."

"But it's warm and dry in here with food and you can look out the window where it's beautiful."

Nadia sulked thought for a moment.

". . . I do like food," she finally mumbled.

"There see? Much better to look on the bright side of things."

Nadia grumbled something, then shoved some food in her mouth.

When she was done chewing and feeling more polite, she went on. "So, how are finals for you?"

Joxer sat down to eat his lunch far, far away from where Nadia was.

Mmmmmm. Fooooood.

Coming into the cafeteria, Chad was a little torn as he saw people he'd want to sit with on both ends, and, though it seemed logical in a certain respect, sitting smack dab in the middle didn't seem like a good solution. Since Nadia and Pippi were already keeping each other company, he drifted over to Joxer.

"Hey. Mind some sidekick company?"

"Not at all," Joxer said. "How ya doin', Chad?"

"Good," Chad grunted as he started to spear his macaroni with his fork. "You?"

"I'm kind of worried about my other finals, but other than that, everything is great," Joxer said.

"What other finals ya got?"

"Myth, and my final project for Prophecy," Joxer said. "Two of the hardest classes ever. I swear, I'm not gonna make it through them."

Chad frowned a little, making a mental note to not take those classes if they were offered again next semester. He disapproved of extrenious effort more often than not.

"What makes 'em so hard?"

"They require too much reading and thinking," Joxer said. "It's like they're trying to make us sit around and become weak or something."

Chad grunted; it was a laugh, but it could have easily be interpreted as agreement. "Evil plot?" he guessed. "Doesn't seem in the school's best interest to let us become weak, considering trolls and shit."

"Exactly. Unless they're all working for the trolls," Joxer said. "Then they might be part of a secret evil plan."

Hermione can't be in the library during lunch, so she makes her way to the cafeteria, where she can read through more notes before class. Who needs food? Also, occasionally she's scrubbing at her arms with a damp paper towel to get the writing off, which isn't really working. She's also not looking up from her studies as she does this. She's a little focused.

Billy noticed the writing. "Pens got you too?" he asked. He had ink marks himself, though nothing legible had been written on him, he hadn't held still long enough.

"Studying," says Hermione, not looking up from her book. It's best not to disturb her when she's in this sort of state.
