Biology, 12/19, Period 2

There are platters of Christmas cookies and a pitcher of punch on a table in the front of the room, and Elliot is wearing a green elf cap and earrings shaped like Christmas tree balls. "Hey, happy final day, happy four-days-until-your-break day. Have some cookies."

"There is a test at each of your seats; you have 30 minutes to complete it. After that, please turn to the pamphlet and pick a lab you would like to do. You don't need to complete it -- the time's really tight -- but I do expect you to show off proper lab technique as you choose and set up the experiment."

"Next semester I'm teaching an anatomy class, in case any of you want to keep going with me. If you don't, think of me next time you carve up a defenseless animal. Either way, I'll try to post your grades by Saturday."

1. One is a frog circulatory system and one is a pig's.

2. *insert crude drawing of a shark that looks more like a stick person eating smaller stick people*

3. The pollen is the sort of genetic material that leaves one plant for another in order to pollinate it and create other plants. I could explain it slightly more technically but you'll turn red.

4. B

5. I learned about cell reproduction without having to hear about procreation.

1. One is an amphibian and the other is a mammal?

2. Shark-->Seal-->Fish-->Seaweed

3. It's in the stamen and it's the guy part of the reproduction.

4. B

5. That my cells look really weird.

Willow turned in five blue books' worth of material - one for each question.

Question 4 was her favorite, as shown by the many Punnett squares she made to not only answer that question, but variations on it by changing up the blood types and even including Rh factor.

At the end of question 5 she wished Elliot a Happy Holidays and drew a happy face to go with it.

[ooc: appropriate grade for nerdy girl]

Isabel had reasonable answers for all the questions. Although she might have been heard humming a certain song from a bad sequel when she answered question 3. Where does that pollen go?.

Parker would be doing all of this for real if the plug-ins were installed answered 1. correctly, drew a slightly over-enthusiastic food web with a shark in it (eating everything), answered 3. with Everywhere but also included details on how it fertilized plants, got in-depth on blood types to a frightening degree (AB, B, and possibly A, if the B has a recessive O connected to it), then said that the coolest thing she learned in the class was: That life can be found anywhere, adapting to survive, no matter what the conditions. For every potential prey, there's a predator. For every symbiote, there's a host. You just have to wait long enough. Plus, orchids are freaks for Bach. (She did well enough to get an A on the test.)

Peter did very well, except he got smart-assy on Question 5 and answered "Ice."

Below that, he wrote, "Just kidding," and gave a more serious answer.

Briar studied. Doesn't mean he got anything over a B though.
