Biology, 12/19, Period 2

There are platters of Christmas cookies and a pitcher of punch on a table in the front of the room, and Elliot is wearing a green elf cap and earrings shaped like Christmas tree balls. "Hey, happy final day, happy four-days-until-your-break day. Have some cookies."

"There is a test at each of your seats; you have 30 minutes to complete it. After that, please turn to the pamphlet and pick a lab you would like to do. You don't need to complete it -- the time's really tight -- but I do expect you to show off proper lab technique as you choose and set up the experiment."

"Next semester I'm teaching an anatomy class, in case any of you want to keep going with me. If you don't, think of me next time you carve up a defenseless animal. Either way, I'll try to post your grades by Saturday."

Parker would be doing all of this for real if the plug-ins were installed answered 1. correctly, drew a slightly over-enthusiastic food web with a shark in it (eating everything), answered 3. with Everywhere but also included details on how it fertilized plants, got in-depth on blood types to a frightening degree (AB, B, and possibly A, if the B has a recessive O connected to it), then said that the coolest thing she learned in the class was: That life can be found anywhere, adapting to survive, no matter what the conditions. For every potential prey, there's a predator. For every symbiote, there's a host. You just have to wait long enough. Plus, orchids are freaks for Bach. (She did well enough to get an A on the test.)
