Music is Love: [12/12]

When the students enter the music room they'll see that it is decked out for the holidays. As a matter a fact several different ones. Some people celebrate Christmas in July. Lorne apparently thinks you should also celebrate the Fourth of July in December.

True it's not the fourth of December, but let's not tell him that.

"Hey kittens! I hope you had some fun with your little bots last week. Before you start telling me how much fun you had with them, I want everyone to come up here and sing their favorite holiday song!"

"What did it score your other break-up scene with?" Sam asked, "And Paul Simon? God, what were you doing?"

"Trying to tell Seely Booth that it wasn't going to work out. Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover is not helpful when you haven't actually had sex with the guy." Parker made a face. "And my other break-up scene-- well, my last encounter with the ex-- was scored by Teal Dear. It's Called a Phone, Moron."

"Yikes," Sam grimaced. "Sorry to hear that."

Parker shrugged. "Thanks. I should get Zero to write me something cheerful and not so bloodthirsty, and play it 24-7. Maybe that'll help with the sanity."

"Or maybe you need something even more bloodthirsty and a target," Sam suggested.

"Troll killing really was helpful," Parker said in agreement. "I should go find more things to shoot." She paused. "Or maybe just net and hang upside down and have people point and laugh."

"In case it ever comes up, Parker, no I won't date you."

Parker stuck her tongue out at her, then grinned. "Fine, be like that. You don't get to go on the next violence exposition. Mockery and gunfire and lattes. Too bad."

"And me needing more ammo for the P-90," Sam shook her head sadly. "But I think I'm okay with not having violence for a while."

"I'll endure now that I don't have to listen to that bot. Just a couple dozen neurotic orchids." She paused. "Hey. Do you like plants?"

Neurotic singing orchids? "Generally..."

"Want one for Christmas?" Parker might have looked very hopeful.

"Does it sing?" Sam wasn't sure she wanted a singing plant. "Or play an instrument?"

"I can get you one of the quieter ones. And they all shut up if you water them. They're gluttons for H2O." Parker smirked. "Air Force Anthem?"

Sam shook her head. "Not going Air Force."

"Did you decide what you were going to do instead yet?" Parker asked, curious. "You were talking space pirates the last time you mentioned it, but I wasn't sure whether to take you seriously."

"It's still an option," Sam grinned, trying not to let her worry over not having a plan for her future become evidence, "but I have to check with my co-captain. And one of us should probably figure out where to get a ship."

Parker snickered. "Always important. Though I guess you could turn privateer? Somewhere like Admiral Harrington's part of the galaxy. Get a ship, get a license, rob from the rich and give to the stock market."

"Privateer..." Sam pondered that. "Yeah, definitely have to float that by Charlie. Not sure it would be as much fun if we had permission, though."

"Less chance of getting arrested," Parker pointed out. "Then again, with you two, blowing up a jail is no big deal, so maybe that's not a factor."

"I never blew up a..." Sam frowned as she reviewed her mental list. "That's not the point."

Parker snickered at Sam's pause, then asked, "It isn't?"

"No." Sam wasn't sure what the point was at this point, but she was fairly sure that wasn't it. "So, broke up with Seely, huh? Any particular reason, or is it all the bot's fault."

Parker glared at the bot, who started playing Here Comes the Rain Again and said, "Too many reasons. And I was dating him for all the wrong ones. Mainly practice, and just to prove I could. He's not a bad guy. But I wasn't going to get past the Angel-resemblance any time soon, sooooo.... time to cut him loose."
