Ethics [Thursday, December 7th, 6th period]

Krycek waited until everyone had taken a seat before he addressed the class. "So we've covered six of the seven sins," he said. "And now we're on the very last, which apparently was near and dear to our teacher's heart since he devoted an entire class period to it."

He pointed at the board, where WRATH was written in large block letters. "Wrath or anger - an emotional response to a grievance, generally based on the perception of a threat, real or imagined.

"The focus on the syllabus is 'Losing your temper is a good thing'." Krycek smirked. "So tell me why that might be, or why you think he believed that. Or go ahead and argue against it, since I know you will anyway."

[ooc: Wait for the OCD is go. Omg I am so tired, but I'm going to try and respond to you guys as much as possible, honest.]

"Maybe he had stock in Ikea?" Jamie suggested.

"Anger can be channeled into something productive," Sam said reluctantly, "and sometimes it clears the air of emotions that have been bottled up."

"This professor? It's all in his wiring." D said. "Unfortunately, sometimes, he's right. If you bottle something in, sometimes it's a relief to just... let it all go."

"I think that depends on the source of the anger, how it's released, and where." D replied. "I knew a girl back home who cried when she got angry."

"Anger can be productive, but it has to be a tool," Tyler said. "Wrath to me suggests losing control."

"I guess it depends on what your goal is," Tyler ventured. "If all you want to do is scare people, then yes."

"It's a completely normal reaction," Aeryn says. "It's also usually more productive than whining about it and it makes you feel better." Again not directly addressing the second question, though she kind of has to wonder if she's right there.

"It happens," she says slowly, though she actually can't think of a time when it's happened to her. "But I think if you lose control you're doing it wrong anyway."

"Anger can be good. Useful. But losing your temper means you've lost control," Stark said. "But that could be a good thing too, maybe, if you wanted to frighten someone."

"Because he has issues," Seely suggested. "Maybe he just needs a bubblebath and a footrub."

"Anger can keep you alive, can make you push yourself harder than is possible. It allows you to ignore pain and limitations and disregard repercussions."

"If you don't let your anger out sometimes, it'll just stew an' simmer inside you, like, until you explode or go all passive-aggressive. But he was just angry all the time. Maybe he had a bad childhood?"
