Interstellar Relations, Monday, 6th Period

Laura stood at the front of the classroom, clad in a bulky grey sweater, her hair having air-dried to a very natural wave. She clutched a coffee cup in one hand as she hugged herself in an effort to keep warm. It might have been readily apparent that she hadn’t been resting well.

“Good morning,” she said, forcing a presidential smile. “I’m glad to see each of you made it through the weekend safely.” She didn’t mention that she had spent the weekend holed up in her apartment, trying to make sense out of the reality she found herself in. Logic and order had eventually won out – but not before it had caused her a few sleepless nights.

“Because we didn’t get everything done, we’ll be continuing from last week’s group activity. Well, with one slight alteration: As some of you might have guessed, the Cylons have followed the Colonials to Earth. They are not firing yet; their major demand is that you turn over the Colonial fleet. Beyond this, they say they only come in peace. It is up to you to determine your policy and help shape the policy of the galaxy.”

A wry grin twitched at the corners of her lips, lighting shadowed eyes. “No pressure, right?” Taking a sip of her coffee, she stood in silence, regarding them for a moment. “Okay, kids. Go to it.”

Fortified by a large cup of coffee, Isabel waited to discuss this new turn of events with her prime minister. After this weekend, she wasn't inclined to look favorably upon anything resembling an invasion or the threat of one.

Peter smiled at Isabel as he sat down. "How's your knee, Majesty?"

"All better actually," she smiled. "Shawn healed it at Caritas yesterday afternoon. And by the way, I never did get to say thank you for pulling me out of there yesterday. I really appreciated it."

"We are so super frakked," Cally said.

"Like hell I'm letting us get turned over to the Cylons," Anders growled. He might still have been in a bit of a kill-'em-all mood after the weekend. "Come in peace, my ass."

"What're you gonna do? We can't fight either side, here."

"What's the guarantee that the Cylons will just turn around and leave Earth alone?" asked Elizabeth, frowning. "If their belief in racial cleansing involves the destruction of all humans, then surely they're going to want to include the Thirteenth Tribe in their definition of humans?"

Ray so knew this would happen. He waited around to see what his group members would say about this latest situation.

"So, I'm going to vote no on turning over the colonists to the genocidal robots," Teddy said.

Parker made a paper airplane and sailed it over to the Colonists. Anything you want to share with your hosts on the 13th colony?

Cylons = really bad? scribbled Elizabeth in return, shrugging hopelessly.

Anders snagged the airplane, scrawled one phrase, and sailed it back.

Yeah, we're totally frakked.

"Hey, Professor Roslin." Parker's bruised but cheerful. Killing things always relaxes her. "How'd you make it through your first invasion?"
