Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Class Thirteen

Monday, December 4, First Period

There are plenty of bakery items and hot beverages laid out, but the classroom appears to have been rearranged. The chairs and tables are moved to the walls, leaving the center of the room open.

"Good morning, everyone! I want to remind you all that I will be leaving briefly for an assignment. In my absence, Dr Wilson will be conducting class, with the assistance of my TAs. Now today, in lieu of a regular lecture, we're instead going to be rehearsing for the pageant on Friday."

For Dean and Blair to discuss costumes and choreography with the rest of the class.

For Dawn, and anyone else who gets permission from Aziraphale to sign rather than sing.

Ask him questions, try to beg out of the performance, etc.

Marty Blank

"Um. Mr. Phale? I realize that this is a singing thing but when I sing it sounds like somebody grinding the gears of a gearshift in a 1979 Plymouth Horizon. Is there something else I can do?"

Aziraphale eyed Marty speculatively. "Why don't you give me a little demonstration of your singing ability, Mr Blank. Perhaps you're not as bad as you think you are."

Blair Sandburg

Marty cleared his throat and sang a verse of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer."

Yes he was a little on the tone deaf side but nothing truly horrible.

Blair looked a little worried about presenting things in class, but he was there and trying to scribble ideas in a notebook.

"Morning, man." Blair said with a wave. "Are you and Dr. Wilson okay after this weekend?"

Raising an eyebrow, Aziraphale smiled. "Really, my dear, I don't think you're as bad as all that. Don't worry, you'll have all your other classmates to sing along with. Unless you'd prefer to join Miss Summers with her interpretive dance?"

"Good morning, Mr Sandburg!" Aziraphale was looking quite relieved that so far the students who had arrived were looking well enough. "Oh yes, we're just fine. James managed to stay out of trouble, thank goodness, and I only got a bit banged up myself. Are you all right?"

Marty's eyes widened in fear at the words "interpretive dance."

"Um. No. I'll sing. Really. Please."

S.T. Anders

Anders facepalmed quietly at his desk. A lot.

"I didn't even get naked this time!"

"That's awesome, man." Blair smiled and pointed to his head. "The people who were holding us captive didn't hurt us much beyond when they knocked us out to capture us and luckily, I've got a hard head."

With a smile that seemed to say 'I thought you might', Aziraphale nodded. "Of course, my dear. I'm certain you'll enjoy yourself immensely."

Frowning, because he hadn't been able to listen to the radio broadcasts and therefore didn't know who had been taken captive and who hadn't, Aziraphale nodded just a bit.

"I didn't realize you'd been one of the people kidnapped. You're quite certain you're well? Have you been by the clinic just...to get checked? A hit on the head can be dangerous, you know."

"Yeah, I'm not really sure what their plan was but I did try to teach them meditation." Blair smiled at Aziraphale's concern. "I didn't go to the clinic, but I got knocked out on Friday night so I figured if my brain was going to implode and leak out my ears that it would have done that before Sunday night when we got free."
