Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Class Thirteen

Monday, December 4, First Period

There are plenty of bakery items and hot beverages laid out, but the classroom appears to have been rearranged. The chairs and tables are moved to the walls, leaving the center of the room open.

"Good morning, everyone! I want to remind you all that I will be leaving briefly for an assignment. In my absence, Dr Wilson will be conducting class, with the assistance of my TAs. Now today, in lieu of a regular lecture, we're instead going to be rehearsing for the pageant on Friday."

[ooc: Please wait for OCD is up. Rehearse!]

"Um. Mr. Phale? I realize that this is a singing thing but when I sing it sounds like somebody grinding the gears of a gearshift in a 1979 Plymouth Horizon. Is there something else I can do?"

Marty cleared his throat and sang a verse of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer."

Yes he was a little on the tone deaf side but nothing truly horrible.

Marty's eyes widened in fear at the words "interpretive dance."

"Um. No. I'll sing. Really. Please."

"Morning, man." Blair said with a wave. "Are you and Dr. Wilson okay after this weekend?"

"That's awesome, man." Blair smiled and pointed to his head. "The people who were holding us captive didn't hurt us much beyond when they knocked us out to capture us and luckily, I've got a hard head."

"Yeah, I'm not really sure what their plan was but I did try to teach them meditation." Blair smiled at Aziraphale's concern. "I didn't go to the clinic, but I got knocked out on Friday night so I figured if my brain was going to implode and leak out my ears that it would have done that before Sunday night when we got free."

"Promise. Any sign of returning headache and I'll hightail it to Dr. Wilson for a huge dose of western medicine." Blair said with a grin, although there was a shadow of truth involved. The headache had gotten bad enough over the weekend that he had been wishing for the pills that Wilson usually had to force on him.

"Did they damage a lot of stuff? Bel shimmered me back here so I didn't see the town."

"Oh, that's...much less gross." Blair said, trying to not think of fleshy bits or stony bits of trolls laying around. "River fought the trolls and she even talked one out of fighting. Isn't that awesome?"

Walter waited for an opportunity to speak to Aziraphale. "Sir, I think my friends would agree that asking me to sing in this would not be good for everyone else's performance."

Walter came very close to pulling a face, glanced around, and sincerely wished that he had the usual Caritas singing-in-public staples. But if the angel wanted punishment...

He sang a stanza of "Stray Cat Strut" and was, in fact, dreadful. When Walter had been in line for talent, he had apparently skipped right over the ability to sing.

Walter looked at Aziraphale dubiously. "No...."

Walter nodded. That he could do. "Yes. I'm in El Professor's Dance class this semester."

It was better than singing in front of the entire school, and Walter knew he could dance well, even if he couldn't sing to save his life and isn't that an idea? so he nodded in agreement. "I can do that."

How bad could it be? Could it be? It be? Did you hear an echo?
