Mac tugged on her pink hair highlights, then tapped her, also pink, shirt. "I've got colour co-ordination down to a fine art, my friend."

"That you do," Chad said, realizing an overwhelming feeling of pink at the table all of a sudden. If the world was suddenly taken over by pink-loving aliens, he and Mac would be safe. Maybe even be named king and queen of earth, or something. That's be pretty cool.

"You don't get quite the same effect when you don't have a scheme going on," she said. "Gotta go all out, otherwise, it just doesn't work so well."

"A lot can be said for subtlty, though," Chad said, for the sake of subtle disagreement to prove his point all the better.

Mac smirked. "When it comes to colour, I do not know the definition of subtle."

She was talking to a guy in a very pink shirt, known for other shirts that could blind lesser men. Chad could only grin a little.

"We're kinda similar in that way," she added, grinning back. "Nice shirt, by the way."

"Thanks," he said, tugging at the collar a bit as he straightened to show it off. "One of my favourites."

"Shirts are the key part of any ensemble," Mac said with a nod. "They've got to really make you stand out, else it's just no good."

Chad gave off a thoughtful grunt. "You think that's why I wear such loud shirts? I feel I have trouble standing out otherwise?"

Mac looked at him. "Well, you're not exactly a blend into the background kinda guy, I'll give you that." She leaned her elbows onto the table as she continued, "Then again, my version of psychoanalysis isn't necessarily to be trusted."

"No? What makes it faulty?"

"Well, nothing in particular," Mac replied. "Just, I'm not always that good at judging people." ~~Says the girl whose first boyfriend turned out to be evil.~~

"Well, there's a difference between judging people and stating clear obvious facts. I couldn't hide in a crowd even if I wanted to."

Mac shrugged. "You could if it was a crowd Chad-clones. Round here, it could happen," she pointed out.

Chad blinked at her. "That's be a little frightening."

"Some guy who was basically a clone of my Media teacher hit on my yesterday," Mac said. "Now that, was creepy."

Was it bad that the first thing in Chad's head was to ask if he was at least hot?

Probably. So, instead, he went with a harmless, "That is a little creepy."

He was, not that Mac would admit that. And he had been damn fun to ~~not so~~ subtly insult.

"Yup, now I've seen his doppelganger wink at me, I'll never look at him in quite the same way again."

Chad tried to think of what it would be like if any of his teachers winked...or their doppleganger, anyway...at him. Quite frankly, he just ended up surprised that most of them didn't. Well, except Custer. But, technically, he could be winking all the time, and everyone just thought it was a blink....

"Will it possibly cause random bursts of giggling in the middle of class?" Chad supported random bursts of giggling in classes, when coming from cute girls, so he hoped so, even if he wasn't in that class.

Mac thought back to that conversation she'd had with Tony. "Yeah, quite possibly," she admitted after a moment's thought. The look on his face after she'd told him not to wink at her, had been pretty damn priceless.

Chad nodded in approval. "Good."

"Right, back up to the dorms for me," Mac said, with a sigh. "I now have to figure out how to stop half the inanimate objects in my room from trying to serenade me."

Chad started to nod in agreement before that all had processed in his head. "Wait, what?"

"Oh," Mac pulled a face. "It's one of those days. Stuff keeps singing at me." She rolled her eyes, "At least it's not stealing my clothes and leaving me naked in a common room, which is what happened the last time appliances started acting up around here."
