Sam may have been a little more hyper than usual when he opened the library today. At least part of that was the result of having accidentally gotten an extra large coffee instead of a regular coffee. Oops.

Dawn squealed again and batted his hands away. "Saaa-aaaaam," she scolded cheerfully, "and yeah. I'll wave at you from the other side of the bars."

"Unless you're waving at me from the same cell because I dragged you into the same mess," Sam replied.

"Oooh, even better."

"Does this mean I have permission to pull you into trouble with me? I certainly don't want to deprive you of any kind of fun this weekend."

"You absolutely have permission to pull me into any kind of anything you want," Dawn said with a nod.

"Excellent. Buffy will kill me for getting you started on having a criminal record, but I imagine it'll be worth it."

"What happened to our 'What Buffy doesn't know won't hurt us' theory?" Dawn leaned on the desk. "I liked that, and it seemed to be working well."

"That's true. She might never have to find out," Sam replied, leaning on the desk as well. "I like that idea. It's a lot safer for you that way."

Dawn snickered. "It's a lot safer for you that way too. And um, I think we suck at being rebels."

"I think you're probably better at it than I am. I'm holding you back with my silly law-abiding ways."

"You must have gotten all the law-abiding genes," she teased, "and my vampire babysitter wasn't exactly the best influence ever."
