Library [11/10]

Sam may have been a little more hyper than usual when he opened the library today. At least part of that was the result of having accidentally gotten an extra large coffee instead of a regular coffee. Oops.

If Sam's talking a little faster than normal, it's just the caffeine high.

Sam is out at his Prophecy lab, but someone else might be around to help you.

Sam was back and going over a list of everything he'd packed for Las Vegas, making sure he hadn't missed anything.

Yes, he's checking the list twice. He's like Santa, in a way.

"Hi," Dawn said, throwing her purse on the library desk with a thunk. "Jack and Parker found Isabel."

"Oh good," Sam said, trying to read Dawn's expression for a sign of whether that was good or bad. "Was she missing?"

"Sort of. She's okay, but there's been some uber bitch queen pretending to be her and it's thrown her, I think."

"Uber bitch queen? Sounds like a lovely person to encounter," Sam remarked.

"Except for the part where she wasn't, you're totally right," Dawn smiled at him. "So, all packed and ready to go?"

"I think so. I figure if there's anything I'm leaving behind by this point, it never needed to be brought in the first place." Sam smiled back at her. "I'm really looking forward to this trip."

"Me too. And Molly said she'd come bail us out if we needed it," Dawn said with a nod, "so that's all taken care of."

"I hope you're not thinking that we're going to need to be bailed out," Sam said, laughing. "Dean, maybe. But I have every intention to behave myself."

"It's good to have a plan B. And what fun is behaving yourself? You're going to Vegas without your dad!" She poked him.

Sam poked her back. "So? It's not like we're not going to have chaperones watching us. Chaperones who, I might add, can report back to my dad as soon as we get back."

"Eee! Sam!" Dawn giggled and moved out of reach, she hoped. "Good point, but behaving yourself all weekend? Is that really gonna happen?"

Sam moved forward just enough to actually poke her in the side. It was nice having long arms. "Probably not. I know Dean's going to do something trouble-making, and he won't be happy if he doesn't drag me into it. But I can pretend, right?"

Dawn squealed again and batted his hands away. "Saaa-aaaaam," she scolded cheerfully, "and yeah. I'll wave at you from the other side of the bars."

"Unless you're waving at me from the same cell because I dragged you into the same mess," Sam replied.

"Oooh, even better."

"Does this mean I have permission to pull you into trouble with me? I certainly don't want to deprive you of any kind of fun this weekend."

"You absolutely have permission to pull me into any kind of anything you want," Dawn said with a nod.

"Excellent. Buffy will kill me for getting you started on having a criminal record, but I imagine it'll be worth it."

"What happened to our 'What Buffy doesn't know won't hurt us' theory?" Dawn leaned on the desk. "I liked that, and it seemed to be working well."

"That's true. She might never have to find out," Sam replied, leaning on the desk as well. "I like that idea. It's a lot safer for you that way."

Dawn snickered. "It's a lot safer for you that way too. And um, I think we suck at being rebels."

"I think you're probably better at it than I am. I'm holding you back with my silly law-abiding ways."

"You must have gotten all the law-abiding genes," she teased, "and my vampire babysitter wasn't exactly the best influence ever."

The library is closed for lunch, unless you're an aide or the librarian.

Sam didn't stick around for too long, not wanting to miss the bus, so if you want something, it had better be fast.
