[The Gym, Cheerleading Practice, after classes]

Alec rolled out the mats and turned on the music as he waited for everyone to show up. When everyone had, he turned down the sound a little to address the group.

"Okay, so Buffy couldn't pull herself out of bed or whatever, which means I'm stuck with actually doing my co-captain-ish duties," he said, not looking honestly very annoyed.

"She did tell me what she wants us all to do though, and it involves this crappy ass song and some dance moves -- we're focusing on working as a unit, getting timing down and hating the early nineties. I'm kind of glad I hadn't even been born yet, if this was what music sounded like then, really.

"First, take fifteen minutes to warm up and practice whatever you need," Alec said, turning the volume back up.

D was a bit out of cheering shape so she settled into warming up and tried not to grimace any.

"D'anna!" Molly went over to join her. "Hi! How've you been?"

"Hiya, Molly!" D greeted as she stretched forward. "I've been a little under the weather but I'm slowly improving. How about you?"

Molly gave her a huge grin. "I'm real good," she said. "I'm sorry to hear that you were sick though, I didn't know."

"I'm glad to hear it. What have you been up to?" D grinned back. "I'm still not used to having other people around that need to know about these things. I'll post a sign on my door next time, promise."

Molly grinned knowingly. "Oh, I haven't been up to much. Classes, cheer practice, going on swoop bike rides with my boyfriend. The usual." She shrugged, pretending to be casual.

"The usual, eh?" D's grinned broadened and she raised an eyebrow. "So you've always had this boyfriend I've never heard of?"

Molly gave up the pretense. "No," she said with a bit of giddy glee. "Ray and I have been dating for a bit, but on Sunday he said he was my boyfriend."

"That's fantastic, Molly! Tell me everything!" Then a light went on and she blinked and her jaw dropped a little bit. "Wait, you said, Ray?"

Molly nodded. "Ray Kowalski. Do you know him?"

"Sorta." D gave a wee grimace after all. "Please don't kill me for slapping your boyfriend?"

"Why did you slap him?" Hey, if it was deserved, who was she to complain. The reasons she could think of why a girl would slap a guy though gave he a moment of worry.

"I thought he was someone else, he wasn't, and I, er, umm, didn't respond in the quite the best way possible. It was totally my fault not his." D bit her lip. "Anyway, if you can avoid hating me, tell me everything?!"

Janet was trying not to think of how many practices she'd missed. ~~Stupid RL.~~ But she waved at D as she did warm-up stretches. Lots of warm-up stretches.

D waved back. "Looks like you're about as thrilled to be working out as I am." ~~I know!~~ She said with a small smirk.

Janet rolled her eyes. "I'm out of practice," she said, stretching towards the floor. "Very out of practice. This is going to hurt tomorrow."

"Me too." D nodded. "Been a bit under the weather so I've missed a few rounds of practice. Not to mention classes."

Janet grimaced. "Did you get to the clinic?" she asked, looking concerned. "You're feeling all right now?"

"Ummm, if the answer is no, hypothetically speaking, I have the feeling I shouldn't say so, right?" D gave a winning smile that said to anyone with a clue that she was totally faking. "I'm getting there?"

Janet eyed D dubiously. "You realize I know that tone of voice, right?" she asked. "The only people that use it are the ones that are avoiding the clinic."

"Er... no?" D coughed from awkwardness, if that was possible.

Janet straightened and frowned at D in a way that suggested that she wielded a needle with exacting precision. "You're going to the clinic," she said.

"What?" D raised an eyebrow out of curiosity, and possibly a wee bit of fear.

"My next clinic shift is Monday night," said Janet, smiling in entirely too satisfied a manner. "And if you're not there, I'm going to come find you, and drag you to the clinic. You're definitely still sick."

"I am?" Ok, so there was more than a wee bit of fear. Funny given that D was definitely the taller of the two.
