Friday Assembly/Recital
The auditorium stage has been transformed into a series of moving sets and curtains. After the students and faculty take their seats Lorne steps out and waves to the crowd. "Hey all you groovy cats and kittens out there! Thanks for coming today! All my music students are very excited to perform for you today and can't wait to get things started. So without any more delay? Let's light this firecracker!"

Sam Carter!
Re: Sam Carter!
Sam entered, wearing a pink gingham dress that was tight at the waist and a little poofy at the bottom. On her head was an equally pink bonnet which was covered in rhinestones and tied in a big loopy bow under her chin. On her feet were a pair of black combat boots.
She glared off into the wings at Lorne, then signaled the music to start. Contrary to the way she'd been practicing it all week, this was actually sung, though it was probably difficult to understand the words through her gritted teeth.
When I take you out, tonight, with me,
Honey, here's the way it's goin' to be:
You will set behind a team of snow white horses,
In the slickest gig you ever see!

Despite his best efforts the corner of his mouth quirked ever so slightly upwards.

Unfortunately, she hit the wrong buttons and the stage started to fill with fog.
Re: Sam Carter!
Trying to keep up with the new scenery, Sam started with the opening verse of "I'll Go Home With Bonnie Jean," sung with great sarcasm, eye rolling, and absolutely no matching the music whatsoever.
I used to be a rovin' lad.
A rovin' an' wanderin' life I had.
On any lass I'd frown, who would try to tie me down.
But then one day, I saw a maid,
Who held out her hand, an' I stayed an' stayed.
An' now across the green, I'll go home with bonnie Jean.
Re: Sam Carter!
Instead, though, the fog kept getting thicker and thicker.

And switched songs in a vain attempt to keep up. She closed her eyes and swayed back and forth as she sang, trying to look appropriately gothic while the Surrey with the Fringe music kept playing.
Night-time sharpens,
heightens each sensation . . .
Darkness stirs and
wakes imagination . . .
Silently the senses
abandon their defences . . .

Once she stormed off in the dark, he couldn't help but cackle. This was the best day ever.
