Friday Assembly/Recital

The auditorium stage has been transformed into a series of moving sets and curtains. After the students and faculty take their seats Lorne steps out and waves to the crowd. "Hey all you groovy cats and kittens out there! Thanks for coming today! All my music students are very excited to perform for you today and can't wait to get things started. So without any more delay? Let's light this firecracker!"

First let's give it up for the fabulous dancing Madroxes!

A line of Jamies wearing top hats charge of the stage. Doing a kick line.

Overture, curtains, lights,
This is it, the night of nights
No more rehearsing and nursing a part

"Now I want everyone to give a big round of appaluse for Pippin as he sings us a classic country tune..."

"From country to R&B! Let's give it up to the man with the booty and knows how to shake it!"

"Now most of you know that our little Zuko couldn't be on stage tonight but in the spirit of a head-tilt and a case of 'The show must go on!' We have a special treat with Conrad Michelle singing a tune from one of the greatest dance movies of all time!"

"And now we have one our star performers singing a little ditty by Britney Spears. Ladies and Gentlemen! Give it up for Zima!"

"And once again: The dancing Madoxes!"

The boys once again don their top hats and race out on to the stage.

Oh, we're the boys of the chorus!
We hope you like our show!
We know you're rooting for us!
But now we have to go!

And just like that they have raced off the stage again.

"And now we turn to the broadway show tune parts of our show. Let's give it up for Chadwick!"

"And now here is the lovely Maureen singing a tune that so suits her personality! Let's give her a hand!"

"And now it is my pleasure to introduce the belle of the ball: Sandra!"

"Now here's James Dean singing a personal favorite of mine. And when it comes from JD? You know it's from the heart."

"And now we have the lovely Santa Maria who will be singing us a-"

Jamie comes out on the stage and pulls Lorne aside. Anyone listening closely will hear the words "Nadia" and "Not a good time to-".

"And just in case you think it's bad idea to miss Dr. Wilson's class..."

"And what music event wouldn't be complete without a little song from me. Tonight I'll have the lovely Jaye doing a little duet from a musical I guarantee you've heard before!"

"And finally we have a last minute addition to the program and yet another reason why you should not tempt the fates with Dr. Wilson. Everyone please give a round of applause for Conner!"

"That's it folks! We've stuck a fork in this puppy and it squealed to say it is done! You don't have to go home but you can't stay here! G'Night folks!"

OCD? So overated.

Lorne facepalms. "Right. Should have picked up on that."

He grabs Jamie by the shoulder and shoves him backstage. "Go get her costume on. You're doing the number."

"What?!"

Marty? Totally laughing his butt off.

Lorne's hearing? Still the best there is. He points directly at Marty.

"You! The boy with the suit. Up here and in the costume with the mutant. Nobody makes fun of a 'The show must go on!"

Pete was snickering away with abandon. Not only was the weird double kid having to sing and dance, so was the stuffed shirt Socrates wanna be!
