Library [10/26]

Rory wandered into the library earlier than she even had to be there, really, and positioned herself behind the desk.

Blair bounced in after his class and waved at Rory. "Isn't it horrible?"

"Isn't what horrible?" she asked, looking up and immediately pretending she had still be reading and not playing with her hair.

"No school next week." Blair said, too sad about that fact to focus on Rory playing with her hair.

"Yes!" Rory said, her eyes wide. "Oh my goodness, no one else has agreed with me about that!"

"What do we need a break in the middle of the semester for?" Blair shook his head sadly. "It's crazy."

"I'll be using it to do school stuff anyway, but it's not like everyone else is going to be productive," she noted sadly.

"Is the library going to be open at least?" Blair asked, looking around and possibly calculating how many books he could fit into his backpack.

"I don't know," she mused. "I hope so. It should probably be open at least twice or so during the week, like it was this summmer."

"Yay!" Blair grinned. "That's good. Although I should still probably pick up some books today. Just in case."

"It's like stocking up for the apocalypse," Rory said, nodding. "I'm buried in reading material or I'd be doing the same thing. Can I help you find anything?"

"Only with less canned foods." Blair grinned. "I'm good. I'm just going to grab a bit of everything."

Which Blair quickly did, grabbing random books off shelves and eventually coming back to stand in front of Rory with a respectable stack.

Rory eyed the stack. "You planning on, like, leaving your room this week?"

Blair shrugged. "Books travel easily."

Scooting the stack onto the desk, he dug into his backpack. "Do you want to sign (http://lovechildblair.livejournal.com/29215.html) the cafeteria petition? We're trying to keep it open seven days a week."

"But it made Marty sing ABBA," Rory said, recalling her only experience with the cafeteria.

"Which is better than Marty starving because he can't afford to buy food on the weekends." Blair said. "Plus, lots of people eat in the cafeteria and don't end up singing."

Rory considered it, and nodded. "Okay, I'll sign."

Which she did, with a pretty little flourish.
