Ethics [Thursday, October 26, 6th period]

Vader swept into the room precisely on time, the door slamming behind him like usual. "I trust that your time with your relatives was excruciating and uncomfortable. I do not care about your problems to begin with, and if you try to use them as an excuse for why your assignment is not complete, I will not care even more." The leather creaked in his gloves. "So don't try it." It wasn't a suggestion.

He paced in front of the classroom. "While I am interviewing you all separately--" the menace in his voice was completely intentional, "--the rest of the class will be discussing the Golden Rule. 'Do unto others as you would have done unto you.'" Vader snorted. "Hopelessly naive way to live your life or useful philosophy?"

It was very obvious which option Vader preferred.

He pointed towards the first student. "Let's begin."

"He's strong, he knows what is coming and what can happen as far as the dangers of it and he doesn't back down. It's impressive."

"Yes." Maia said looking over at John for a moment; "If the person disregards the safety of those around him to the point of idiocy."

"If he wants to put himself into jeopardy but no one else then that isn't weakness, it's a personal choice."

"To keep him from getting himself killed? Either let him feel the pain of dying over an over again in a simultation or else place him in a position so that he is not the one determining his own fate."

"For a time yes until he could prove he is responsible enough to be trusted with it. You don't just had a child a guna nd say 'There you go, go shoot something.' You train them. Simply train him to be responsible and after all that if he is still so stupid as to decide to let an outside force kill him then perhaps he was an apprentice that was not worth my time to train to begin with." Maia said unbothered by Vadar's questioning.
