Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Class Eight

Monday, October 23, First Period

The classroom doesn't look much different than it did during Parents Weekend, except for the addition of a large tropical fish aquarium against one wall. In it are swimming five very content looking fish. If it doesn't seem to have any significance to the topic of Prophecy, that's because...well, it doesn't. Aziraphale just likes the fish.

"Today we're going to cover several somewhat lesser utilized methods of divination. Specifically, we'll be talking about elemental methods and handful of what you could call the most common of the less common -- including my personal favorite, the reading of tea leaves. There's even a form of divination using specially designed computer programs, although that one is somewhat under dispute."

"Oh yeah, it was Parents' Weekend, huh?" Yeah, Anders was still pretty out of it. "I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that this didn't have anything to do with them being unhappy about your grades . . ."

Anders frowned. He wasn't entirely sure what exactly that entailed, but 'my parents are pissed that I'm not doing what they want me to do' was pretty universal. "Man, that has got to be illegal in so many . . . well, probably not hell dimensions, I guess. Frak him, though. We kinda like you better alive and not serving the Source. I think."

"Damn," Anders muttered. "They really want you back that bad, huh? I mean, I can see my dad being pissed off enough to drag me back home if he found out some of the stuff I've been up to, but bounty hunters? They do not do things halfway where you're from."

Blair knew that Bel was injured. So when he bounced over to show that he hadn't left school he tried not to hug him too tightly.

"She doesn't care for demons," Bel said, rubbing his ribs unconsciously. "As for her father, Phoebe hasn't seen him since she was just a little kid. He tracked her down this weekend."

"She was pretty upset when her sister TK'd me into the wall," Bel said. "And she's still kinda shocked to have her father turn up after so long. He walked out on the family when she and her sisters were all little."
