Student Council [lunch]

Josh had his feet propped up on his desk when the members of the student council began arriving.

"I know you have more important things to worry about right now than this meeting," he began. "Did I clean my room enough? Have my parents brought embarrassing photographs of me that they will share with absolutely everyone? Will my teachers say nice things about me?" Josh grinned. "On that last one, let me put it out there that I am extremely bribable."

He waved his hand towards the pizza in the back. "Let's make this a quick meeting so you can get back to your guests or hiding in your rooms."

"As much as I love my friends? I forgot how much they like to poke fun at me," Jamie said shaking his head. "It's going to be a loooooong weekend."

"Just remember that anything that Guido says is probably a lie and any photos they may have is probably doctored."

JD seems a little depressed, despite his impressively demolishing a stack of pizza.

JD shrugs, starting on his last slice of pizza. He glances over to see if there is any left before answering.

"I'm just homesick, I guess. Everyone's parents are here this weekend, and my Dad is in Oklahoma or somesuch, instead of here. And Mom, well, Mom is busy with her new husband."

JD tries to smile comfortingly at Pippi. "That sucks. It's great that everyone else gets to see their families, but its depressing for everyone else."

"Yeah." Pippi nodded. "I get to meet Pip's Granpere though. I think that should be enough excitement."

Peter ate his pizza and wondered just how crazy this weekend was going to get. And if his brother was going to manage to learn tact at some point in his (possibly quite short) life.

Isabel took a seat next to Peter and sighed. "Is it Sunday yet?"

"Nope," he replied. "Do you know anyway just to speed up time?"

"There's always just drinking ourselves into a stupor," she pointed out. "Enough alcohol now and we won't wake till Sunday night. Who's visiting you?"

Peter chuckled. "Somehow I think that would just make it worse eventually." He put his head in his hands. "My brother. It was a total shock that he came, and the worst part is that if you'd asked me about the possibility? I would have been thrilled to have him here. What about you?"

"My brother," Isabel sighed, dropping her head back to stare at the sky. "Unfortunately I'm not exactly thrilled that he's coming."

"On the positive side," Peter pointed out. "Perhaps our visits will be exactly opposite in that you aren't thrilled about it, but it'll turn out well? Does he not approve of the school?"

"It's more that Max doesn't like anyone knowing about the alien thing," she explained. "And I never told him about everyone here at school knowing the truth. I'm hoping to get through the weekend without anyone saying anything."

"Thanks, I appreciate it," Isabel smiled. "Fortunately he does know about the weirdness. So I'm hoping to just keep him distracted by that for the weekend."
