Rory smiles as she opens the library, and is actually kind of awake-ish for the first time in a long while.

"Hi!" Rory says brightly, blushing already. "How goes life in Bridge-land today?"

"Oh, pretty exciting," Bridge says, waving a hand. "This morning, I saw a parade of lions and tigers with monkeys riding on them in the dorms. And then on my way here there were hippos in tutus doing a ballet routine."

Rory raises a brow. "And see, here I thought I had a weird day what with the elk and the seals that came through here looking for the reference section."

"Were they navy seals?"

"No, they were more of a pinkish color."

"What about the elk, then?" Bridge asks.

"Well, they were purple, of course," Rory says as though this is the most obvious thing ever.

"As they should be," Bridge nods.

"Elk in any other color would be so weird," she says, shyly scooting her chair a little closer.

"Yeah," Bridge agrees, grinning slightly as he notices her moving closer. "So... what were they trying to look up?"

"American senators from 1917 through 1999," she says, shrugging. "Go figure."

"Research for a paper? Or of a more practical nature?" Bridge ponders.

"Curiosity, I think," she says.

"That's good," Bridge says. "I mean, I'm not sure the world is ready for a seal or elk senator."

"I'd vote for one. I mean, depending on their platform," she says thoughtfully.

"I'd imagine they'd be very environmentally conscious, you know. Considering."

"But how would they be fiscally? I mean, do they worry much about their finances?"

"Well, elk and seal finances are probably somewhat different from human finances."

Rory scoots a tiny bit closer in what she feels is a terribly sneaky way. "Well, yes. They spend money on different things."

"Weren't you over there a minute ago?" Bridge says with a grin, pointing to a spot a few inches away.

"You must be imagining things," Rory says immediately, her face flaming up. "Been here the whole time. Really."

"Are you saying I'm hallucinating?" Bridge asks with an exaggerated pout.

Rory gives him big, innocent eyes, and scoots her chair a little more so she's right next to him. "Nope. Just that clearly I have been here the whole time, and you must be confused."

"Oh," Bridge says, because now Rory is very, very close. "You're right. Confused. I must be."

"Exactly. But I can scoot right on over there if you want," she says, her insecurity showing for just a second.
