Fencing Club, 5pm Salle

"Good afternoon, everybody," Peter said with a grin as the group assembled.  "Hopefully everyone's recovered from the colourless weekend and no one else has turned into a puppet man?"  He may have looked far too amused at the last.

"Today I thought we could start having those of us who have studied for a while demonstrate their particular style of swordwork for everyone else.  Then we all have a bit of familiarity with each other's forms and perhaps see how they'd mesh.  Perhaps one demonstration a week for a while until we either run out of volunteers or there's something else that catches everyone's interest.  For today, Sakuazaki," he bowed to her, "has agreed to demonstrate her bladework for us."

"After that, we can pair up and work out or spar as the mood takes us.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, let me or Hamlet know.  If you'd like to volunteer to demonstrate your style, let me know as well."

[OOC: If your character would prefer to be asked to demonstrate, ping me in the OOC thread, and Peter will be happy to solicit their help.  After the demonstration, pair off as you like and chatter or spar as you wish.  Wait for the OCD, please. is up!]

Parker was in an evil mood, but it was mostly coming out in how short and choppy her movements were.

"Good evening Parker." Alanna said with a bit of a smirk.

Alanna's smirk definitely had overtones of her daughter, instead of the other way around. It made Parker wonder what she was up to. "Good evening?" she said, cautious.

"Fancy a spar?" Alanna was just in a good mood. Faithful looked like he was planning to take over the world.

Joxer hadn't been any kind of challenge, so Parker shrugs. "Sure. I'm in a rotten mood. Fair warning." She smirked at Faithful. "Caught your show this afternoon."

Faithful said a few words more likely to come out of Alanna's mouth. The girl smirked. "That so made my day. Gaurd."

Parker put her sword up in the guard position, taking this a lot more seriously than she had Joxer's attempts. "And congrats on being President, by the way." She waited, watching Alanna's eyes, but also her torso, liked she'd told Parker to do.

"Someday, I will figure out how that happened." Alanna did a series of attacks aiming up, middle, and down, rather slowly.

Parker began to concentrate more carefully, countering the upper attack, and the middle, and just getting the lower attack in time. "Because you were very qualified? I'm sure Liz would have done a good job too, but it's cool people thought of you for it."

"You say cool, I say scary." Alanna kept up her 'attack' not yet hurrying the pace.

Parker grinned sardonically. "Better you than me." She countered again, keeping her feet carefully in place, and then tried to imagine Alanna as Jarod. *That* put a little more oomph in her defense.

Alanna raised a brow but didn't comment. "So why the bad mood tonight?"

Parker met Alanna's gaze, and bared her teeth, slowing down but still putting power into her return strikes. "Reminders of past mistakes. Makes me bitchy."

Alanna upped the pace a bit. "Dare I ask what?"

"The insane ex-boyfriend just refuses to disappear completely, that's all." Parker snarled, and moved to block Alanna's hits, trying to put her energy into that instead of fuming.

"Ah. Ah! AH!" Yeah, Alanna is not the sharpest sometimes.

"Yeah. Exactly. Like. That," Parker said, trying to get her breathing under control as she blocked Alanna's moves. "Remember your thing after Christmas? Now apply that to me. With cigarettes."

"And you can't set stuff on fire with a finger." Alannaa pointed up and set a pace she liked.

"True." Parker's grin stayed feral. "Thus. Practice. Thanks." And she concentrated, hard, on keeping any of Alanna's hits from coming close, and put thoughts of Jarod and phone calls and yet another rejection out of her head.
