Ranma takes another one much less like stealing, more like sharing with Chad now, though he has a bit of trouble picking this one up since it's a bit hotter than the last one. It's odd to note that Ranma's comfortable enough with him to share his lunch... "Yeah..."

"What is it?"

"I can't touch hot water... so I can't change back..." He looks really unhappy now, like he's gonna cry. "And I don't know what's wrong... Teddy touched the water and said it was just warm and it felt to me like it was burning hot..." Droopy head, he's staring at the lunch table.

That expression on Ranma's face quickly dispelled any thoughts that may have popped up about how being unable to change back was not necissarily a bad thing to him. But the fact that he was obviously very, very upset about it only made Chad worried and concerned. "And this just happened today?"

"It was like this last night too..." He sighs and pokes at the table absent mindedly.

Chad's grunt was thoughtful, accompanied with a frown. "Any ideas why?"

He shook his head. "I can't touch anything hot at all... It doesn't make any sense..."

Chad scratched the back of his head. "~~Better stay away from me, then~~ That is...strange..."

He sighs "Well... I'll figure it out... I hope I don't have to say this way too long..."

Chad nodded. "Maybe it's something that'll pass? Just a temporary glitch? Something in the air, or maybe..." Chad trailed off when he started thinking about how he knew girls got really sore and sensitive to stuff...during that time, and if maybe, somehow, the constant flipping from one set of hormones to the next just made Ranma's really super-effective, but then decided that he really didn't want to think about things like that anyway, shook his head, and munched on a few fries. He avoided the ketchup.

"It's not like that... I mean Teddy said the water was harldy warm but when I touched it if felt like the water was fire. I don't get it... I thought it was the water or something but.. it's me." SADDDD EYESS

Chad was starting to feel worse by the second, with all those forlorn looks and his complete helplessness in the situation. "Isn't there a clinic in town? Maybe they could check it out?"

"How are they suposed to help me anyways?" He doesn't like doctors very much, if Chad can't tell.

Chad shrugged, responding a little defensively. "I dunno. But they probably have a better chance of it than anyone else."

"Whatever." He looks rather peeved. Though he doesn't really feel like fighting with Chad.

Chad idly rubbed a finger on the bridge of his nose as if taking care of an itch. Well, this wasn't good, he'd gone and made Ranma even more upset than he always was, and he didn't know what he could do to make up for it.

"Sorry."

He didn't expect that. He's used to the off-hand whatevers leading to a verbal battle a la Setsuna. But... Chad apologized. This seems a bit much for him. He's really not used to it. "Yeah... It's not your fault..."

Chad shrugged. "Well, I hope you get it figured out soon. If there's anything I can do to help..." He trailed off a bit.

He lays his head gently on the lunch table, looking lost. "Thanks anyways.."

Chad wasn't sure if would be a good idea, if it would make Ranma angrier or not, but he really didn't know what else to do and he wanted to seem at least a little bit comforting. So, not without a good deal of awkwardness, Chad gave Ranma's head a few light pats. "It'll be okay," he assured him.

He blushes. But it does make him feel better. He's still underneath the pats, he doesn't flinch or move away.

Chad can only pat a few times before he starts feeling very silly and awkward. He brings his hand back to his tray. "Want any more of these fries? I'm about done."

"I'm not really hungry anymore... Thanks though..." He stands up.

Chad nodded. "No problem. Good luck with finding Setsuna, if you think she can help."

"Yeah.. She's good with stuff lke this..." He waves.
