Ms. Readman was juggling her briefcase, a travel mug of hot tea, and a wheeled bag when she opened the library Monday morning. Somehow, she managed not to drop anything, although it was a close call when she tried to flip on the lights with the hand holding her tea. It was a relief to be able to set everything down and collapse behind the desk to wait for students.

Edward wandered in later in the day, looking decidedly sleep-tousled. He paused for a moment, turned around once in a complete circle, then headed decisively for some of the taller shelves.
