Naomi couldn't wait for the weekend because that was when her mom was coming home, or at least she hoped that she was as she remembered what happened the last time, she got a bit of everything and sat down.

"When I spoke to dad on Friday he said that she was doing fine," Naomi replied, "he's calling again this Friday so hopefully I'll know that it's definite she'll be home on the weekend,"

"Yeah, at least I won't have to deal with anything bad happening to her," she remembered what had happened the last time all to well.

"Aside from being the detention lottery winner after the first week of classes, that was pretty weird," Naomi said, "but other then that it's being pretty quiet,"

Edward grabbed a philly cheese steak and a soda and plopped himself at a table. Almost immeaditely he was zoned out, back to reading the Clavicle of Solomon.

Well now she really felt like a stalker. Sakura had wandered down to the cafeteria to see if the Chef had seen a notebook she'd left somewhere last week... And yet, here was Edward; another matter that needed attending to.

She stood there for a minute with a funny look on her face before she even bothered to approach him. She wasn't a stalker, damnit.

"Have you ever gone a day in your life without reading a book?" she asked mildly, sitting besdie him with her back facing the table and crossing one leg over the other.

Edward looked up and blinked. Then he thought about that for a moment. And thought. And thought some more. "Does before learning to read count?"

Sakura stared at him for a good five seconds without blinking, rolled her eyes, sighed, and shook her head. "No," she answered anyway.

...and then she remembered why she had wanted to bother him. Go, Sakura, go! "Oh, by the way, I wanted to talk to you," she added, swivelling and sitting properly at the table. She laced her fingers together and placed her elbows on the table, resting her chin atop her hands and eyed him, one eyebrow raised.

Edward contiuned munching on his sandwich, raising his eyebrow right back at her. "So, here we are. Uh, doing that talking thing?" He took another ginormous bite of his sandwich and somehow didn't manage to choke on it. "What's up?"

Sakura cringed a little at his sandwich inhalation, and glanced away to watch the Chef go about his Swedish business behind the counter. Finding nothing any less 'wtf' to look at, she turned back to Edward. "...tell me something, what's next month?" Why she was going around the bush to get to this, she wasn't sure.

Edward blinked at her and thought about this. "Uh. I dunno. What month is it now? I don't keep track."

It would take her days to get the point to him if she wasn't blunt.

"...okay, nevermind that. What are you doing October sixth?"

Edward blinked. "Umm... nothing? Why?"

Another sigh. "You really don't pay any attention to anything, do you?" She pulled a folded piece of paper out of her back pocket and set it down in front of him. "...Surely you remember the fiasco the last time we tried this. I don't know if you're willing to try again." She frowned. "...but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask; and if all else fails I can always pretend I'm legal and buy us some alcohol to sit around and drink."

...Wait. Did she just volunteer to buy liquor?

Edward picked up the paper and unfolded it. "It's... ah." He might have just turned a little red, but that could be the fact that he had inhaled an entire philly cheese-steak in a little under two minutes. Suddenly he found the table a whole lot more interesting. "I'm, uh. Willing to give it another try if you are."

Sakura decided that Edward's disturbing amount of cute and even more disturbing amount of obliviousness about said cute should be illegal.

She didn't squee.

Instead, she grinned and flopped to the side, leaning against him. "I'll try not to screw up this time."
