If there was one thing Darth Vader excelled at, it was making a memorable first impression.

He waited until the classroom was full, then stalked in, cape flaring behind him.

He twitched his fingers as he reached the center of the room and the door slammed shut behind him.

"I am Darth Vader," he intoned over the even mechanized breathing of his suit. "I trust you have already heard of me." His masked face scanned the faces in front of him. If he was at all affected by the negative thoughts and emotions being directed at him, he wasn't showing it. "You will refer to me as either Darth Vader or Lord Vader. Any other address will result in detention." He began pacing the room. "You should be grateful for that. Very few have ever been granted advanced warning of my actions.

"Today we discuss how far over the line you would go to save someone you love." Vader's voice turned cold. "I don't want to hear that you wouldn't go over a line. Would you lie for someone? Steal for them? Kill for them? Does it matter to you if it's friend or family? Does how much you love--" and yes, the word sounded awkward coming from that particular visage, "--that person affect how far you would go for them?"

Vader crossed his arms over his chest and waited for the first student to speak.

Perhaps you'd prefer to discuss something else. Or pass notes. Vader will not be particularly pleased with either.

Rory was sitting in class with an unusual expression. Normally, Rory was pretty happy-looking in class - it was her natural environment, after all.

Not today. Her expression was probably described as "pissed off" at best. And that was being generous.

She wasn't even taking notes.

Alanna tossed a scrap of paper to Rory. You okay?

Rory tossed one back.

Not really. Why?

I don't think I've ever seen you *glare* at a teacher before. What's wrong?

He killed Anakin.

Alanna didn't write anything back, but a hundred or so emotions flittered over her face at very fast pace. She pursed her lips and was staring straight ahead for the rest of the class.

Sam shot Rory a wary look to see how she was handling the class, and the teacher.

Rory glanced over, and almost smiled.

It didn't quite reach her eyes, though.

That did not remotely inspire Sam with confidence.

Jack was leaning on his elbow, listening intently to each answer, ostensibly taking notes, but his pen was making random loops on the page. The discussion was effecting him far more than it would have even a week ago, and it's possible it might be showing.

Bel settled back to enjoy his second course of Ethics, wondering if this teacher would be as crazy as the first.

The horrible thing is that while Aeryn's listening to everyone's answers, but at the same time is looking for weak spots in the suit. You know, just in case. She's even madder when she realizes everything vital seems to be protected.

As she waited for her turn, D'anna became more and more agitated. Tapping her foot, absently clicking out a rhythm on her desk with her pencil, assessing the location of the nearest exists, etc. She closely watched Vader's every move. She watched out of pure fear. Terror, even.

Maybe the metal was darker, perhaps the voice a touch more human, and the body updated, but D knew exactly what Darth Vader was. Every Colonial knew what he was! She'd seen (what she thought) were older models of him on display in museum!

Vader was noting less than a robot whose sole purpose was to destroy humanity. He was a cylon (http://pics.livejournal.com/dbiers/pic/0001c8py).

[OOC: Yes, I know D's assbackwardly wrong. But hey, the girl knows cylons, and if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then... ~~in fandom it's a llama~~.]

JOhn glared at the cyborg, daring him to kill him. Dammit, why wasn't there enough room on this island for a steel mill??

Vader swept past, ignoring him completely.
