Well, Rory and Kefka had to withdraw from this class. It's a pity, but I quite understand. It's better to decide that, and tell me, than simply to drop out.

I've had written work in from Draco, Deirdre, Lily, Wallace and Hamlet. A couple of those were past the due time, but at least I've got them now.

Nothing from the rest of you.

Lifestyle seminar for this week is now open -- if you'd like to come in and start discussing your work, I'll be interested in the thoughts that emerge.

Those of you who didn't bother to do me an essay, I hope you have some very sound reasons. Somehow I don't feel as if "a werewolf ate it" is going to be sufficient. I may be dropping some of you and announcing some vacancies on this course tomorrow.

I'll let principalconnor have a list of those of you who aren't meeting the participation limits for the course.

I had the same trouble, my boy. It's not in my copy of the Guide, and I had to infer its meaning from things that young Draco was saying. I think your piece of written work (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/69713.html?thread=3449681) seems to show that you've understood the intention of the assignment, if not the actual definition of the words concerned. I'm glad you've found your friend's experience so helpful. It's a pity young Draco isn't here yet -- he seems to have almost the opposite point of view from the rest of the class, and it would be interesting to see him defend his position in person, particularly since it's his specialist subject, so to speak.

Yes, some people in our wizarding community condemn others for their abilities, or lack thereof. Without even taking the cance to get to know someone, they will decide the others are not worthy of their time or effort. I think those who pre-judge others are missing out on the opportunity to meet a lot of great people.

I'm a little baffled by that. Although in my last job, I dealt with lots of different kinds of people sentient beings, and I was a little baffled by most of them.

At the time, most of the people I met who weren't planetary engineers were ... well, were customers. So the advantages of learning what they needed were obvious.

Things were a little different after I went freelance, of course...
