Wilderness Survival Redux - Week 7 | Thursday Morning, A Clearing in the Woods

"Today," Callisto addressed the class. "As a new and novel experience, I'm actually giving you clothing to wear."

She pointed to a pile of masks, gloves, elbow and knee pads, and body armour "There should be something in your sizes there. Get changed."

After everyone had gotten changed, she pulled out a slingshot and a pouch full of paintballs, and continued. "Today's class is simple. You run, I hunt, you make it to the end of the class without being caught or me shooting you, I don't make you go back to the dorms naked. You have until I reach two hundred to get out of here."

With that Callisto closed her eyes and started counting.

Bridge is still running!

Bridge "eeps!" silently and heads for cover.

Peter is being very, very quiet. You'd think he were hunting wabbits.

Peter might have frozen at the noise then ducked behind a tree.

There is no Tyler.

There is, however, a low row of hedges that are moving more than someone using them as cover might expect.

Hmmm.

The bushes go very still, then there's what looks like a rapid burst of movement through them.

Once he'd got some distance, Dean slowed, taking more care to move silently and be aware of his surroundings.

Dean moved even more cautiously, trying to keep an eye on everything around him. It wasn't fair that they didn't get paintguns too. He'd feel a lot more comfortable if he was armed.

Having gone as far as she could without, you know, falling off the island, falling into the rocky bits, or being eaten by... well, something, D'anna oh so cleverly climbed a tree and did her best to not move.

She could be there for days... really. Except, you know, that whole part where she'd really rather not and where she wants to climb back down and see who gets hit with paint, but she's totally treed. Totally.

D'anna did not whistle back.

Sam crouched down in some bushes, but was prepared to run if necessary. She was very still, but wasn't sure how long that would last--if she'd known they were playing war games, she'd have used the little soldier's room before she showed up at the workshop.

Sam stayed still. No purpose to giving up a good position because of a deer.
