Photography Workshop [8/23]

There was a spread of pastries from J,GOB along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the front of the classroom.

"Well, gang, this is our last workshop," Veronica said. "You've all done a great job with your pictures. Today, you can spend some time in the darkroom developing your last batch of photos. Then I want you to go through all the pictures you've taken over the last seven weeks and choose your favorite three to five to display for your classmates."

Parker had her blue (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/702728.html?thread=47260424#t47260424) photo, leaves (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/936959.html?thread=47952895#t47952895), the tree-pool-lights set-up with Blair, as well as Nadia's gremlin photos (yay, Ander & Conner). She also was developing photos of Bridge for Xander, and vice versa. Damnit.

"Parker? Do you have a minute to talk today?" Blair asked as he looked over her display.

"Sure. What's up?" Parker cocked her head at the pictures, trying to decide if she should re-arrange them.

"I'm having relationship problems." Blair blushed a little. "How do you tell someone you're not interested in them and you would rather that they didn't kiss you anymore?"

Parker blinked, and said, "I usually say 'go away', but I'm told that's mean. If they're just randomly kissing me and won't stop, I punch them. " She shook her head. "Who's harassing you?"

"Punching?" Blair shook his head. "I'd rather not mention any names. I haven't gotten the courage to talk to him about how I feel yet."

"Eeeeeek." Parker looked thoughtful, and said, "Okay, here's how you do it if you're trying to not traumatize them. Repeat after me. 'Amigo, compadre, friend, whatever, we need to talk.'"

"You're an amazing person." Blair frowned. "You're sure that's not going to give them the wrong impression? Like the impression that leads to kissing?"

"Not with the next bit attached. 'But the truth is, I'm not in a place where I want to be dating or anything else. I have to get my head together.' And if they argue with it, they look like a creep."

"Oooh." Blair bounced happily. "That sounds a lot like something I would say. And this works?"

"They usually try to argue at this point, and you just have to look sad, and say, 'It's not fair to you. I'm sorry. I just can't be that for you.' Don't insult them, and don't, whatever you do, say, 'it's not you, it's me.' They'll know you rehearsed it if you say that."

"Okay don't say it's not you, it's me." Blair drug out his notebook and wrote that down. "The no insulting is not a problem. I'd like not to get beaten up during this conversation."

"If that actually becomes a concern, come find me. Seriously." She shook her head. "So you only have friendly feelings for this guy, nothing else? Always awkward. I hope you can stay friends, though." Parker grinned. "I'm friends with *most* of my ex-boyfriends, so..."

Blair thought about Parker's chances against Bel and grinned. "If I get worried, I'll come get you."

"Honestly, I have friendly feelings only for guys in general. I think I'm just interested in girls."

"Cool. And that is, the standard, so no big surprise." Parker dryly added, "Even if sometimes you can't tell around here. This would be even easier if you already had a girlfriend, of course. But since you don't, Speech of Friendship and Amazingly Gentle Rejection."

"Fandom seems to have more than it's fair share." Blair shrugged. "And it's not like I wasn't trying on the girlfriend front. Maybe I'll have more luck when the new fall students come. Do you know if we're getting any girls?"

Parker cocked her head and grinned. "I would assume so? I heard we're getting at least twenty new students. If they're all guys, that'll definitely be a fun gender imbalance."
