First Aid II, Tuesday Morning, Aug. 8, Danger Shop

For no apparent reason (and certainly not one that has anything to do with a certain NPC bartender at Caritas), Elliot is in an excellent mood, smiling as she welcomes the students.

"Hey guys. Because most of you took First Aid I last term, we've covered most of the things that can be treated via first aid -- and Hermione, Lana, please see me after class if there's anything we haven't covered in this session that you would like to. So today, we're going to work on diagnosis. I want you to pair up. One of you is, quote, 'injured;' you'll pick a problem from your textbook and act it out for the other person, who needs to figure out what's wrong and prescribe an appropriate treatment. Patients, you can't directly say what's wrong -- that's cheating -- but you have to answer other questions honestly and confirm what's up when your partner guesses correctly. And when you've done that, trade off. We have nine in class, so either there will be one group of three or one of you will work with me."

"Any questions about the game?"

"That was my first guess," Peter replied, laughing. "What were you doing when you first started hurting? Are you feeling dizzy at all?"

"I was outside, and no, I'm not feeling dizzy," Isabel replied.

"Were you outside for an extended period of time?" Peter asked. He looked at her sternly. "And did you wear sunscreen? Not that I did until just recently, but I'm told it;s important."

Isabel nodded a bit sheepishly. "I was, and I did. I just didn't reapply it when I should have. I'm sunburned."

Peter shook his head. "Consider yourself scolded then. Is it too bad? Have you put aloe on it?"

"It's not too bad," she said. "I've put aloe on, that's helped some."

"And you should stay out of the sun until it gets better," Peter said with a nod. He thought for a second. "Was that the injury? The sunburn? Because I can't think of anything else I'd do." He grinned. "Though I admit to being less than conversant in treatment of the problem."
