For no apparent reason (and certainly not one that has anything to do with a certain ~~NPC~~ bartender at Caritas), Elliot is in an excellent mood, smiling as she welcomes the students.

"Hey guys. Because most of you took First Aid I last term, we've covered most of the things that can be treated via first aid -- and Hermione, Lana, please see me after class if there's anything we haven't covered in this session that you would like to. So today, we're going to work on diagnosis. I want you to pair up. One of you is, quote, 'injured;' you'll pick a problem from your textbook and act it out for the other person, who needs to figure out what's wrong and prescribe an appropriate treatment. Patients, you can't directly say what's wrong -- that's cheating -- but you have to answer other questions honestly and confirm what's up when your partner guesses correctly. And when you've done that, trade off. We have nine in class, so either there will be one group of three or one of you will work with me."

"Dr. Reid? I won't be able to make class next Tuesday as I'll be out of town." Lana handed her a pass (http://fh-office.livejournal.com/37093.html?thread=303845) from the office. "Is there anything I should do to make up for it?"

Elliot glanced at the note and shook her head. "Not really. The last class is the week after that, so it'll mostly be a review session."

"Oh good," Lana said with a smile. "Thanks."

Z approached after Lana. "Dr. Reid? I'm afraid I won't be here next week, either." She held out her pass and explained, "I have to attend a training session for my future job." That is, if she doesn't decide to run away first...

"My class is deserting me," Elliot joked. 'That's fine, Z. it'll just be review, like I told Lana."

"Believe me, if I could stay, I would. It's just that they really wouldn't like that ~~and might stick me in a little little card~~."

Pair up and play.

Peter looked for a partner to work with.

Isabel waved at Peter. "Woe, I am injured."

Peter looked stricken. "Indeed, my lady? Allow me to rescue you! Where are you injured?"

"Oh, a handsome knight to my rescue. Now I'm swooning as well," she said dramatically, putting her hand to her head. "But I'm hurt all over."

"Oh dear," Peter replied. "We must stop that. Were you attacked by anything?"

"No, I wasn't attacked," she said with a grin. "No badger bites."

"That was my first guess," Peter replied, laughing. "What were you doing when you first started hurting? Are you feeling dizzy at all?"

"I was outside, and no, I'm not feeling dizzy," Isabel replied.

"Were you outside for an extended period of time?" Peter asked. He looked at her sternly. "And did you wear sunscreen? Not that I did until just recently, but I'm told it;s important."

Isabel nodded a bit sheepishly. "I was, and I did. I just didn't reapply it when I should have. I'm sunburned."

Peter shook his head. "Consider yourself scolded then. Is it too bad? Have you put aloe on it?"

"It's not too bad," she said. "I've put aloe on, that's helped some."

"And you should stay out of the sun until it gets better," Peter said with a nod. He thought for a second. "Was that the injury? The sunburn? Because I can't think of anything else I'd do." He grinned. "Though I admit to being less than conversant in treatment of the problem."

Parker looked around for someone to diagnose and hopefully not kill.

All done!

For the record? Isabel won't be here next week either. She just doesn't know it yet.
