Writing Workshop - 08/08 - Journalism Classroom - Tuesday Morning

If Anders and Kaylee arrived early enough, they might have caught Chloe checking herself out in a compact mirror. She didn't look like she was fixing her hair as much as she was pressing her hands onto her scalp like she expected there to be something on top of her head.

"Okay you guys, it's finally here: the class that I'm certain at least one of you has been dreading," Chloe said, giving Anders a sympathetic look. "Today, we're going to talk about poetry. What I'd like for you to do before the end of class is to write me a love poem. It doesn't have to be anything long or epic, and it doesn't even have to rhyme. And I fully expect to get poems of silly love, but feel free to write something sincere if you wish."

[Posted early because I will be internet-less tomorrow until 5PM Eastern.]

Kaylee sat down and started working on a very badly written poem. It was so sappy, it'd make anyone reading it physically ill.

Anders started scrawling something that may or may not have had a certain resemblance to "Casey At the Bat."

Or rather, the drunken lovechild of "Casey At the Bat" and just about anything by Tennyson.

It's a wonder the paper wasn't screaming in agony.
