Veronica was sadly coffee-less this morning, as last night had been so busy at work and she had been running late to make it to the classroom on time.

"Good morning," she greeted once everyone had arrived. She frowned when she noted that Nadia wasn't there. "I know the syllabi I gave you at the beginning of the semester said we'd be doing a section on Fashion Photograhy this week, but given the unexpected trip to Washington, D.C. this weekend, I decided to switch things up and teach you about Documentary Photography."

She gave a very brief, but informative lecture on the subject.

"Now, you can spend some time in the darkroom, developing your photos. Don't forget that this Friday is the School Art Fair and I'd love to see you all submit something. If you don't have anything you like yet, I can arrange for the darkroom to be open tomorrow for you."

After the darkroom, they returned to the classroom.

"Let's brainstorm on this week's prompts," Veronica said. "They are Red, Sparkly, and Fire."

Once the brainstorming session was over, she grinned. "Good job today guys. I hope to see you all on Friday at the Art Fair and don't forget about the field trip on Sunday. Bel and Cameron, could I talk to you guys for a minute please?"

[Long note today: remember that post I made two weeks ago about my office move? That's finally happening tomorrow, so I'll be offline from around 1pm EST until I get home from work (which may be a little later than my usual 5:30 EST if I'm not done with my last minute packing). I'll pick up any pings at that time.]

Bel, still stuck in demon form but very fashionably dressed, worked on developing his pictures of bird, air, and berries. Admittedly, he had to sneak off the island for that last one.

Zack blinked at Bel. "Well, at least you don't have to worry about the red prompt."

Poor, dumb Zack.

Bel grinned, showing his sharp teeth. "Or fire," he said, conjuring a fireball.

Scientific curiousity won out over brain-breakage. "How do you do that?"

"I'm a demon," Bel growled. "It's one of my powers."

"That's why," Zack said. "I asked how."

Bel blinked. "I don't know. I just will it and it appears."

"Pyrokinesis," Zack frowned. "Interesting, I thought it was just a myth."

"Not where I come from," Bel said. "It's fairly common."

"Bel, no fire in the darkroom please," Veronica called.

Bel extinguished the fireball.

Believe it or not, demons can pout.

At least he heard the radio last night so Cameron wasn't too confused. "I guess it makes for a change," he joked.

"I just don't want to be stuck this way forever," Bel growled.

"No, I guess it'd draw attention," Cameron was being very observant. Not that his own set of cuts and bruises were that inconspicuous.

"Not to mention my girlfriend might have issues with it," Bel grumbled.

Cameron could imagine that, but probably for the wrong reasons. "Do you know what's going on?" he asked. "Have you've ever had this happen before?"

"I've never been stuck like this," Bel said, frustrated. "Usually I can switch back and forth with no problem. It's harder to maintain human form when I'm sick, though. But I don't feel sick."

"Maybe you don't feel sick because your system is fighting it and this is the result?" Cameron suggested. "It wouldn't do any harm to go to the clinic and let the doc check you out?"

"Hey, Bel." Listening to the radio was pretty useful sometimes. "Still stuck, huh?"

"Yeah," he growled. "This has never happened to me before."

Elizabeth smiled sympathetically. "Maybe it was something you ate?" she said, only half joking.

"I didn't have cafeteria food or anything," Bel said, scowling. "I don't think I had anything weird."

"Huh." Elizabeth looked thoughtful. "An underlying emotional cause?"

"What do you mean?" Bel asked.

"Something's upsetting you, and you're either hiding your human face behind your demon mask. Or, you're not able to hide the demon within you," Elizabeth suggested, shrugging slightly. "I'm just making guesses here."
