Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #4

Jarod was waiting with his hands behind his back as the class arrived. "Hello again. I hope you've all recovered from having to tell the truth last week," he smirked, "because this week you'll be lying yourselves sick."

"You've shaded the truth so much that it's no longer believable, or someone has checked your references--in any event, you've been found out. Your job during this class is to either pair up or have a group of three of you, and for one of you to make the other person or people believe that you know what you're talking about. It's your job to get yourself out of whatever trouble you've gotten yourself into. But it's your partner's job to come up with the scenario."

"You're teenagers, so hopefully I won't have to tell you how to lie, but I'm here if you have questions."

[ooc: Not here until 6 pm EST. The way this works is: Partner 1 confronts Partner 2 with the scenario that's been flubbed. Partner 2 lies his or her way out of it.]

"Several of the students who ate your cookies have complained of unusual allergic reactions to them. Not merely hives or rashes, but full cases of Muppetitis and of spending several hours in delirious states in which they were reportedly 'cuckoo for cocoa puffs'. They're demanding reimbursement for medical costs."

"That was unrelated to the Diet Soylent Green," Cameron said quickly. "You can't get Muppetitis from real piglets food. If you look at the menu of that day, sir, you'll find that they were serving 'Chocolate Moose'. Did you know that he actually uses muppet mooses too make this? I found it out for myself in detention. I believe that's the cause of the Muppetits."

The chocolate mousse was made with real moose? Hamlet was once again thankful to never eat any cooking that that evil chef prepared.

"And what if there was cross-contamination between your team's Soylent Green snickerdoodles and the Chef's questionable chocolate moose?"

"We used the school's facilities to make those cookies, counting on its impecability. Any contamination would be the school's or the Chef's responsibility." Cameron felt slightly guilty about framing the Chef, he had been nice and told him he had talent.

"And I suppose you wish to blame the school's facilities for why the gingerbread men also demanded that no one eat their gumdrop buttons for the duration of the bake sale?"

[OOC: I have to make my way home soon-ish. Wil you still be around in an hour, hour 'n a half?]

"I think that was Fandom striking, sir. It's hard to hold anyone accountable for that, but we did solve the issue by having people just eat the heads first," Cameron pointed out, trying not to laugh.

Hamlet shook his head, also trying to hide a bit of a grin.

"Still, because of the talking cookies and the Muppetitis, we lost a good portion of the profits that would have funded larger activities for the basketball and cheerleading teams."

[OOC: That's fine. I took a little longer than expected to get back. Hi! ^-^]

"I understand that, sir," Cameron considered it. "Maybe we can hold another fundraiser that wouldn't cause any further troubles? Like a lottery with as first prize a date with professor Tick?"

"Would Professor Tick be willing to go along with it? One would have to wonder just how much that entailed. Would you offer yourself as the target of a date auction?"

"If it was for a good cause. Sure," Cameron said, somehow feeling like he might be regreting those words at some point. "Professor Tick should just be made aware that this is for Justice. The money would go to education which keeps kids from fallig into crime. He'd do it."
