Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #4

Jarod was waiting with his hands behind his back as the class arrived. "Hello again. I hope you've all recovered from having to tell the truth last week," he smirked, "because this week you'll be lying yourselves sick."

"You've shaded the truth so much that it's no longer believable, or someone has checked your references--in any event, you've been found out. Your job during this class is to either pair up or have a group of three of you, and for one of you to make the other person or people believe that you know what you're talking about. It's your job to get yourself out of whatever trouble you've gotten yourself into. But it's your partner's job to come up with the scenario."

"You're teenagers, so hopefully I won't have to tell you how to lie, but I'm here if you have questions."

[ooc: Not here until 6 pm EST. The way this works is: Partner 1 confronts Partner 2 with the scenario that's been flubbed. Partner 2 lies his or her way out of it.]

"He wasn't himself. And you're with another person. You make me sick."

Nadia was pretty sure if anything had actually happened, Walter would have told her. Still, there was a touch of real anger in her voice.

Joxer's lower lip quivered.

And a tear started rolling down his cheek.

Nadia blinked and looked around, then leaned in and whispered: "Joxer, you're supposed to lie your way out of this,"

"It's hard when you're feelin' so guilty," Joxer said. He coughed and rubbed his eyes.

"You know, I think you're just jealous," he said, weakly.

"Jealous of you? Or jealous of him?"

Joxer weighed his options.

"Both."

Nadia raised an eyebrow. "Not likely."

"Hey, Walter had to see something he liked in me," Joxer said. "Something you don't got, and something that maybe you yourself want. That's the only reasonable explanation, right?"

"Yeah, no. I doubt that. Walter wasn't himself, as I've said."

"Maybe he was. . . enlightened to the charms of Joxer the Mighty?"

"He was bit by a gremlin."

"Maybe he wanted to be bit by something else?"

Nadia just raised her eyebrow again.

Joxer gestured. "Look, maybe he's not been getting enough at home, you know? So he had to go out looking?"

"So you took it upon yourself to provide it for him?"

Joxer folded his arms. "I'm just saying if you put out more, this whole situation wouldn't have happened."

"So it's my fault you slept with my boyfriend?"

Nadia was getting close to wanting to smack Joxer.

"Yes it is. Next time, you're welcome to join us, though."

Joxer apparently wanted to get smacked.

Nadia glowered at him. "You wanna take this outside?"

"Yes!"

He was supposed to be lying, after all.

Nadia rolled up some imaginary sleeves. "Right. Let's go."

"Where are we going?" Joxer asked, kinda confused as to what he just got himself into.
