Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #4

Jarod was waiting with his hands behind his back as the class arrived. "Hello again. I hope you've all recovered from having to tell the truth last week," he smirked, "because this week you'll be lying yourselves sick."

"You've shaded the truth so much that it's no longer believable, or someone has checked your references--in any event, you've been found out. Your job during this class is to either pair up or have a group of three of you, and for one of you to make the other person or people believe that you know what you're talking about. It's your job to get yourself out of whatever trouble you've gotten yourself into. But it's your partner's job to come up with the scenario."

"You're teenagers, so hopefully I won't have to tell you how to lie, but I'm here if you have questions."

[ooc: Not here until 6 pm EST. The way this works is: Partner 1 confronts Partner 2 with the scenario that's been flubbed. Partner 2 lies his or her way out of it.]

Tyler blinked at that, but only slightly. "Yes, we did the dance," he said, recovering. "And that's something else you owe us for. I'm never going to get the swan blood out of my shirt. Why'd we have to wear silk?"

"And why'd we have to do it in your living room... I want the negatives damnit."

Parker pouted. "I was just looking out for you. You were in my employ, what if you'd broken a leg? And I like silk. It's a natural fiber. You could could have gotten friction burns otherwise." She glared again. "You're not getting the negatives *or* double pay. I wanted a zombie moose, and all you brought me was a bear with an eating disorder."

"He doesn't have an eating disroder," Tyler explained patiently. "It's reflux. And if you want the zombie moose, you can give us a decent map and pay us triple to try again. Or else we'll just tell the cops about WHY you want the moose."

"Ya..." Pippi said. "You know paying to have a Zombie Moose transported over state lines is a Federal Offence right? We were giving you a family discount before. That's not going to happen again."

Parker waved that away impatiently. "Fine. Fine. But you're going to have to do the ritual again. *Without* the magic wands, I suppose, if pumpkins keep happening. And I don't want to have to be the one to explain to Grandma why you two don't have real jobs."

Tyler waved her away. "Whatever, grandma likes us best," he said, steepling his fingers. "She's never forgiven you for 'borrowing' her engagement ring."

"But we'll be nice and give it another shot, sis."

"We'd still have our old jobs if you hadn't gone and blown the place up." Pippi said evenly to Parker. "I swear... You and your unholy love for rutabaga will kill us all one of these days."

She glanced at Tyler.

"If we're doing that dance again... This time? I'll lead and you wear the silly badger hat (http://static.flickr.com/70/177544107_8fab170102.jpg)."

Parker got a sudden image of Pippi in a badger hat, and cracked up. Damnit.

Tyler looked back at Pippi, smiling in triumph. "I'll wear the hat," he promised. "And excellent lying."

Pippi grinned back, holding out her hand for either a handshake or five.

"Likewise I'm sure." she said. "... And I'm going to hold you to the hat thing."

"I'll buy you both drinks, just for the entertainment." Parker grinned. "Although if you get me a moose? I'll throw in some shoes."
