Detention, July 29th, The Gym

After leaving a note at the Danger Shop directing the students to the gym, Coach GOB Bluth began to set things up. When the students arrived, they would find him in his game-day suit with a whistle around his neck and a clipboard in his hand. On the clipboard was a sign-up sheet.

Willow Rosenberg
Blair Sandburg

"Hi there. We have a basketball game today and we need to get it set up. That's going to be your job. You'll also have to do the little things around the bench during the game. Getting your team water, giving motivational speeches so I don't have to, crap like that. Whatever they need. You can leave when the game is over."

"Go Gremlins."

[OOC: Wait for OCD is up. The detention post will cover you through lunch, then you should participate in the game posts to whatever degree you would like or find appropriate. For leaving, use the rough guideline of 5:00, or whenever the game is over. I will actually be AFK for the entire afternoon, so this detention will be light on the GOB interaction. Hopefully I'm giving enough to keep you busy.]

[ETA: Going now. Have fun!]

"What the heck does gobsome mean?" Blair stared at the shirts in dismay, finally picking up with the equipment manager one. "I'm beginning to think that calling Dr. Cox Lucinda was not worth it."

Blair grinned at the memory and shook his head. "No, it totally was."

"Are you kidding me?" Blair asked. "You can write? I mean...you wrote a book?"

"Do you get a lot of people buying books that insult them?" Blair tried to be aloof but the mention of magic was way too exciting and he bounced. "Do you still perform magic at Caritas? When's your next show?"

But he was not going to go to the website and buy that book. Maybe he could check it out at the library.

"I wonder what that says about our society." Blair's research genes were itching to go write a paper about that, but again the prospect of magic distracted him. "I'd love to come see it, if you do! I hear you call people from the audience to come on stage and help with the magic. Is that true?"

Willow had enjoyed the one time she'd been to the Sin, so she wore that shirt as she felt it was at least accurate.

Willow? Stared. Also she covered her ears since ow.

Blair was pretty sure this was against Geneva convention rules, and spent the minute grumbling about the Man and his eventual damning.

Willow didn't know anything about basketball or ball-judging hee so she decided to start by sorting the balls based on how clean they were, since that way at least the players wouldn't get their hands dirty.

"How are you sorting?" Blair eyed the rack.

"Cleanliness," Willow said. "I figure if they're dirty they'll slip out of the player's hands and then it's ball chaos, everywhere. Someone could lose an eye."

"An eye?" Blair started helping sort, looking for the shiny basketballs. "I think these are a bit big to be poking out eyeballs."

"Sure, but they could slip and trip someone and their elbow flings out and boom! Eyeless." Willow shook her head solemnly.

"I guess that's a possibilty." Blair bounced a dirty ball on the floor. "So why do you have detention?"

Re: Activity 4: Speeches

[identity profile] lovechildblair.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alright team! I know that there have to be winners and non-winners at every game and we should really try our best to be the winners! So go out and play hard and try not to mess up your karma by fighting." Blair thought over GOB's instructions and added. "Also I will not make out with you."

"Okay! Go out there and do your best! Score lots of points, or else for the rest of your life you'll be dealing with the knowledge that you could've won but you didn't, possibly because of some tiny little mistake that nobody but you noticed but those mistakes matter, which is why you didn't score 100% and your team lost and even if you're the only one who knows that it will eat at your soul and you'll never be able to get a good night's sleep for all the paralyzing guilt which is why you need to be perfect all the time.

"And, um play nicely and try not to hurt anybody when you score points because that's really rude. Go team!"

Willow looked unhappy at this news. "But - Peter's on the blue bench!"

Then she belatedly wondered if being equipment manager meant going into the locker room, then her mind went in interesting places and she blushed so hard she couldn't speak for several minutes.
