Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! ~~Please wait for OCD.~~ Up, yay!]

So was Willow. Her fingers traced small, random circles on his chest as she ducked her head in a vague attempt to control her blushing.

"We didn't get hit by any snowballs," Peter whispered. "So no need for blushing."

"Not why I'm blushing," Willow murmured against his chest.

Peter shivered slightly at the feel of that, his hand rubbing her back. "Why then?" he asked.

Willow felt shyer than usual. "Because I'm very happy," she replied, softly.

"Me too," Peter whispered.

Willow's head was still ducked, but her smile was so big now that Peter surely had to feel it against his chest.

Peter was smiling rather largely himself though she couldn't see that. He ran his fingers through her hair again then down her cheek.

Willow pressed a kiss to his chest in response.

He grinned at that and hugged her more closely. "

"You're wearing your Narnia clothes again," Willow said, because that she could talk about without her voice freezing up out of shyness.

"Callisto won't give me my American clothes back," Peter muttered. "And I haven't had a chance to wash anything. So Narnian clothes are it."

"I like them," Willow said. "I like seeing them when they don't mean you have to go away."

Peter blushed slightly. "Do you? I - they seem inappropriate here somehow."

"I do," Willow said, finally able to look up at him. "You look handsome and knightly. Not that you don't look handsome in your modern clothes. The handsomeness is pervasive, I'm afraid. But these suit you."

"Thank you," Peter said, still blushing slightly. "I feel more me in them. If that makes sense. But then I miss home."

Willow gave him a sympathetic hug. "Anything I can do to make it better?"

"You already do," Peter said, hugging her back. "But you could kiss me if you wanted to."

"Hmm," Willow pretended to think about it.

"Of course if you don't want to," Peter teased. "That's all right too."

"No it's not," Willow reminded him with a grin. "My lips would be sad."

"So really, by kissing me, you'd be helping yourself," Peter pointed out. "We'd both win." He paused. "That seems so very American."

"We're pretty awesome like that," Willow agreed. She leaned in to kiss him again.

"You're pretty awesome like that," Peter agreed. "I'm reserving judgement on the rest of your compatriots."

Willow grinned and stuck her tongue out at him.
