Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! Please wait for OCD. Up, yay!]

"Okay. That's a good name," Molly said. "And we definitely need guards. Who should we get?"

"We should get Charlie to be a guard. He's burly. Wouldn't you rather have Aeryn inside the hut?"

"...yeah," John says and scowls at himself. "I don't know why I suggested her outside in the first place."

"You were probably just thinking of the scariest person you know," Molly said reassuringly.

"True," he says and shrugs one shoulder. "Okay, Charlie. Peter Pevensie? He's got a sword!"

"Oh, yeah," Molly said. "Peter has that hero thing going for him. He'd be a good defender. How many do you think we need?"

"Four. Two during the day, two at night," John guesses. "And maybe one alternate if one of the guards has a date or is sick or something."

"We can make Cam be a guard too," Molly said decisively. "Then, you can use him as a decoy if it becomes necessary."

Molly grinned. "Exactly. So, who else do we want as a guard?"

"Hmmm." John thinks for a moment. "Principal Washburn?"

"She seems kinda tough and stuff," John explains. "And intimidating."

"Principal Washburn has a whole school to look after," Molly pointed out. "I don't think she'd want to guard a fort."

"On her days off?" Yeah, John really wants to see her guarding the fort for some reason.

"Okay!" John grins back. "Until then, we could ask Anakin? He's got a sword thingy too."

"Hmmmm." He rubs his forehead, obviously in deep thought. Or he just think he looks cool. "Vladdie?"

"Oh!" Molly said excitedly, but then deflated. "But, no. He'd only be able to guard at night which wouldn't make him a good alternate."
