Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! Please wait for OCD. Up, yay!]

"And what is the mistletoe saying now?" Pulling the mistletoe out of her pocket, she sent it floating into the air.

Greg tilted his head, considering, and motioned for her to come closer. "It's a secret."

Isabel stepped a little closer, "Really? But you'll tell me?"

"I promise," he said, motioning her closer still.

"Okay then." Smiling she stepped up very close and placed her hands on his waist. "Close enough?"

Greg leaned over and kissed her. "I think so."

"Nice," she murmured. "Now this is a reason to celebrate."

"Happy Festivus!" he declared, using this opportunity to drop some snow down her back.

Sometimes Greg is very much a boy.

"Yikes!" Isabel yelped as she jerked away and pulled on her shirt to dislodge the snow. "You know what this means don't you?"

"That it's time for me to flee?" Greg guessed, getting ready to run.

"Possibly," she said. "Or else it's time for you to get up close and personal with the snow." Isabel lunged, attempting to try some of the moves she'd learned in karate.

"Eep!" Greg was taken down pretty easily.

Snow was slippery. Isabel fell with him. "Cold! Wet!"

"Your fault!" Greg insisted.

Possibly Greg might have had a point. Not that Isabel would admit that right away. She stalled. Grabbing a handful of snow she tossed it at him.

Now Greg had a face full of snow. He retaliated by flinging a handfu; back at her.

Isabel dodged and managed to avoid getting snow in her face. It landed in her lap instead. She was wearing shorts. It was cold. "Yikes!"

He didn't look very sorry.

"I bet," she grinned. "Truce?" Without waiting for an answer she climbed to her feet and held out her hand.

Greg amiably got to his feet and shook her hand. "Truce."

And then he pulled her into a kiss. Because he is oh-so-smooth like that.

Isabel's really not going to complain about kisses ever. She happily kissed him back.
