Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! Please wait for OCD. Up, yay!]

Tyler noticed the lightning-quick play of emotions over her face, and smiled a a little warily as the snow hit him. "I'm wounded!,": he protersted, and tossed his snowball at her.

River quickly rolled to the side, and the snowball hit her shoulder. She got to her feet and reached out to brush the snow off Tyler. "Sorry," she said.

"I'll live," he promised, brushing the snow off River in turn.

He was careful to keep it more like brushing and less like groping.

The brushing off snow was nice. River wondered if applying more snow would result in more brushing off. She threw a handful of snow over their heads, and while the flakes circled down she quickly reached up to kiss Tyler.

Tyler kissed back, delighted. "Romantic," he sald. "I like the snow in your hair."

River beamed. "Want to build something out of snow with me?" she asked.

"Sure," Tyler said. "Snowperson, or a snowmonster, or what?"

"Snow-Bertie?" River suggested, giggling.

"If he wouldn't mind," Tyler said agreeablty, and started mounding snow together.

"Don't think he would," River replied, and began making a large heap of snow. "This is his head." She placed some more snow on top of the heap while attemting to kiss Tyler at the same time.

Tyler kissed her back. "How many tentacles does he have?"

"Twelve large ones and fourteen smaller ones," River replied. "I'll add one here." She placed a pile of snow next to the head.

Tyler was surprised. "Okay, how does he fit 26 tentacles under your bed?" he asked, mounding some snow into a tentacle as he talked.

"He curls them up," River explained. "I think he could look scary if he stretched them all out at the same time."

Yeah, then I'm glad he likes me," Tyler muttered. He mounded some snow into tentacle shapes. "Are they like this?"

River nodded. "Yes. And yes, I think he does like you." She grinned and gave Tyler a quick hug.

Tyler hugged her back and kissed her on the forehead. "Happy Festivus, River."

[OOC: Going to the moives, back in a few hours.]

"Ditto," River said, sighing happily.

((ooc: Ok, I think this is a good place to end.))
