Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

"You'll tell me when you hear something?"

"Promise," he grinned. "I'm sure everyone will hear. If it's positive anyway."

"True," Isabel agreed. "We're going to have to tie weights to your ankles to keep you from floating off."

Cameron laughed. "You're too considerate. How have things been going?"

"Really well," she smiled happily. "Really, really well."

Cameron smiled. "Good. I'm glad to see a bad cake can't ruin your mood."

"Oh that day got infinitely better after the cake," Isabel grinned. "Then there was skywriting."

"Skywriting?" Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Greg's definitely in for the running of best boyfriends?"

"Oh yeah. Definitely." She shook her head, still boggled. "I don't know how he managed to do it, but he convinced Anakin to fly a plane and write a message for me. It was definitely one of the most romantic gestures ever."

"It's definitely going all out," Cameron agreed. "Can I ask what he wrote?"

Now that question made Isabel blush and look down. "G heart I."

Cameron smiled at the blushing. "Cute."

"It was sweet. He's a really, really nice guy." Yes, she's still blushing.

"Good, because you deserve a really nice guy," Cameron chuckled.

"So do you," Isabel said, smirking. "Jack's a sweetheart."

Cameron did his best goldfish impression. Finally he groaned and pinched his nose. "I hate radio."

"Oh but we all love it," she laughed. "Whatever were you thinking? Or drinking even?"

"Something green," Cameron was possibly the one blushing now. "Ask Harkness, he ordered it."

"I fear anything Jack drinks that makes him plastered. I've seen him pack away bourbon and not lose a step." Isabel shook her head. "When he turned up on my doorstep, he still smelled like a distillery."

"Yeah, we had a few..." Cameron cleared his throat, not mentioning just how plastered he had been.

"I'm surprised you're still standing. Still it's good to see that the two of you can get along."

Cameron scratched the back of his neck. "I suppose you can call it that. Getting drunk does seem to improve our moods."

"I'll keep that in mind the next time I see the two of you growling at one another," Isabel grinned. "Instant camaraderie, just add alcohol."
